Hi anon, thanks for remembering that - it was a really good weekend. I went to take my daughter back to Uni and we went to see Everest in 3D at 11.30am and we were the only ones in the screening.

It was so good in 3D and on the big screen - it may lose a bit of the atmosphere on the small screen I think.

Wonderful set of actors, I felt I'd been introduced to everyone quite neatly and I actually liked them all.

It was stunning to feel like we were on the mountain with them, during the helicopter scenes it felt like we were flying...on top of the world.

Based on a true story made it very emotive and I was willing everyone to be safe.

A Wonderful experience.

I found Everest to be depressing. The scale and scope of the mountain worked against the intimacy of the horror the hikers endured, and vice versa. There was good acting all around, but the lack of focus or a central character made the narrative jumbled. 3D was a gimmick, more distracting from their horror than anything.

It fascinates me why these people do these things. Paying to go to hostile environments and risk life and limb. I kind of decided Rob was the central character and worked from there.
There were so many factors that could affect their chances of reaching the top, and most of them were deadly.

I was on the edge of seat.

American Heist...had to look that one up. Good luck with it, but I must say it looks rather terrible!
