I have to deal drugs

I know this is the last place to get army advice but there used to be at-least some army people on /lounge/.

Basically i'm 18 years old, unemployed and i've been depressed for about 6 months since leaving school. I've slowly lost contact with my school friends and they basically mean nothing to me now.

I smoke weed everyday and i've been experimenting with hard drugs, I have to deal drugs and rob people to make money to pay for these drugs. To point out the extent of my depression i rarely leave my house and i haven't spoken to any girls in months. I'm basically disgusted and fed up with the direction of my life and have decided to join the army. Does anyone have experience with the military?

Do it, have them pay for your college (if your smart). Don't worry you will never have to kill someone.

Way back when, the first thing they made you do in bootcamp was do a urine test, so you may want to rethink the drugs thing if you are serious.

I'm not addicted to anything except weed which I've gotten rid off and now I'm just waiting 3 weeks to get clean

11 years in the Army, just got out in March. If you want a shot you need to clean up, they aren't desperate for people with the war at a lull. If you have any type of criminal record you will likely not get in, and if you do you won't get a security clearance for a good MOS.

When I went in, the recruiter asked me lots of questions about drug use, etc.

The lesson I learned, lie your ass off. You didn't never do nothin'.

Dealing weed sounds like a smart plan - super easy/cheap to grow and no end to demand. Unless you live in one of those bullshit countries/states where it's legalized, of course. Otherwise, it's the perfect way to make money for an enterprising young man. Grow 10-20 pounds a year in the summer, or grow all year round indoors. Your choice, but either way know this: you are as close as it gets to growing little money trees.
