I've been going out with this girl since we were teenagers and she's always been a little high maintenance but mostly great. Its been about ten years and we're engaged to be married but with every year that passes we've been fighting more often. I've gotten so mad i've put my hands on her and bruised her once which she never fails to bring up when we argue.

She's always been a camwhore and I'm a voyeur so for years we've been sending pics to guys and I watch her masturbate on cam for them. It's hot to me. She got really close to this one guy she was doing stuff with and wanted to meet him. I told her I wasn't comfortable with her meeting someone whom had seen literally everything, but she kept pushing it, till eventually my hot sensor clicked and I was like 'ya know, are you gonna do anything sexual'? And she told me she was thinking of letting him touch her boobs. Well I just told her she could go all the way, and she said it was good and she thinks our relationship is strong enough to handle it.

So I ask her later if she's doing it maybe I can fuck another girl too and she reluctantly agrees. I find this girl by chance on craigslist. And she is perfect by my standards. She has more in common with me, she's way nicer, I dunno, I'm immediately smitten with this craiglist girl. So I fuck her and my girlfriend fucks her friend and this has been going on for monthes.

Fast forward to now and I am in love with the other girl. My original girlfriend doesn't like her chosen dude half as much as I like my random pick. My girlfriend is super jealous and I tell her there's nothing to worry about but I think there might be. But my girlfriends picking up on it and we're fighting more than ever. It's getting harder and harder to pick my ten year relationship over the breath of fresh air that is this new girl. I don't want to lose those ten years and every time I think about it hurts, but what should I do /lounge/?

Okay, here's some tips from a guy who's not been through that experience, but has a lot of common sense.
1. Breaking up with a someone isn't "losing" that time. However, staying with someone only because you've spent much time together is about as close to wasting time as is possible.
2. It's easy with the new girl, like it was easy with your old girlfriend in the beginning. But people change, and sometimes they grow apart. Maybe this girl is just better for the current you.
3. Measure the relationship on it's own terms, not compared to the new girl. Do you still get something positive out of it? Is it more fighting than it's worth?
4. Breaking up is usually a friendship-ender as well, but that's mostly because you've forced the relationship for too long. It ends on too bad of a note. If it's time to end it, don't fall for the "let's try for a while longer" if you don't really believe in it.
5. Be honest with yourself. This girl might not be someone you'll marry, but if your current relationship is bad, it's not wrong to end it even though it's not for "true love" or whatever.
6. Monogamy and lifelong marriage is a tradition more than something that works for everyone. You're not a bad person for having a divorce.
