So I've refrained from creating all forms of social media, except for a gmail account. No facebook, no twitter, no nothing. (I guess a gmail gives me a G+ account, but it's sans content.)
I really don't want to bother with social media, but a lot of jobs appear to be had through social media. I applied for a job, and the interviewer tried inviting me to Facebook. What do you folks think?

Get with the times. Use it for professional use and networking only. Why not give yourself more opportunities. If that doesn't work you can always play Farmville.

>>2Do I only create friends through coworkers? I honestly know squat about networking. Is there a resource you used?
I refrained in the first place because it's a privacy vacuum, and while it's cute and everything to get poke requests every day for the next 20 years, I'm still freaked out by the whole "we have a map that actually details your wearabouts within 30 meters for the last 30 days." thing. It's like an overprotective mother, and I read too much literature to not feel uneasy about it.

Because jobs aren't a thing.
Because you spend every moment of you not working/sleeping/eating with fucking someone.
Stop trying to be new man.

It's safe to assume they're either a weird fuck or a socially inept 15 year old.
