George W. Bush

I miss George W. Bush. He didn't take shit from terrorists or pussyfoot around the issue. He declared the war on terror and the world took it seriously.
Who else misses George W. Bush?

Bush is honestly my favorite president of all time. Nobody was working together on this scale against international terrorism until Bush declared the war on terror and stood tall and strong for the free world. I think he'll be remembered in history as having taken vital steps to advance humankind and unite the world in stability.

>>1He was a fun guy but his policies led to the destabilization of two regions opening the door for an acceleration in terrorism. I think he would have handled Putin better though. If Bush had stayed in Afghanistan and not split US focus o think the world might have looked better today.
4 Name: Anonymous : 2015-02-19 19:10
Ah yes, the dark ages before G.W.Bush when most of the civilized western world supported terrorism and financed terrorist groups in foreign countries.
5 Name: Anonymous : 2015-02-19 19:16
>>3implying there was stability in those regions
implying the US wasn't 100% fully justified and internationally approved to go into Afghanistan
implying Bush didn't unite many nations who asked the US to help them
implying terrorists weren't already causing trouble
implying the other actors who fucked things up aren't the ones responsible
implying Iraq wasn't relatively stable for a long period of time
You're just retarded.

>>4Bush brought a lot more than the West to the table in fighting international terrorism. The war on terror is still being fought and it's not in dispute. France, for example, still fights the war on terror and many nations still ask for US help in stopping terrorist groups.
The main issue right now is:
1. Obama administration is acting too weakly, thus not providing enough strength, morale, and support to the nations which ask for US help. There's a risk that these nations will be too scared to ask for Western help in the future.
2. EU never has the balls to stand tall enough on their own, so US leadership is always needed.

>>1I hate how liberal morons STILL blame him for everything bad ever. Obama's been in for just over 6 god damn years, it's not been "Bush's fault" for a long time.
8 Name: Anonymous : 2015-02-19 19:33
>>7Yes, but I'm not even talking about that. I'm talking about how a lot of what Bush did was both good for the future and justified. What he did to bring nations together in the war on terror is nothing short of visionary status, and the world is still benefiting today from it. In fact the main problem with Bush's international political-infrastructure is that the West and Obama aren't doing enough to stabilize the united front against international terrorism.
Bush made much of the world a lot more secure through his strength, ability to get nations on board, and clear message. The world is more secure today because of him, however the Obama administration isn't leading like he did and so it's worrying to say the least to see that fall apart.
9 Name: Anonymous : 2015-02-19 19:36
>>8Obama's a joke. We could probably have "9/11 2.0, now with more dead Americans" under him and nothing come from it.
10 Name: Anonymous : 2015-02-19 19:39
>>1He declared the war on terror
Well, that's a load of stupid bullshit, right there.
What does "war on terror" mean?
Terror is a tool of combat.
Can you have "war on infantry" or "war on air forces" or "war on guns"?
Stupid people are people who say stupid things.
11 Name: Anonymous : 2015-02-19 19:44
>>9The net effect of the Obama administration allowing the world to slip back into chaos is horrible for the world. It effects everything, because any place terrorists take hold of becomes unavailable to the free world to travel, trade, negotiate, or ally with.
Despite what anyone thinks, there was potential for stability in Iraq. There were many political parties actively wanting to share power, however internal Iraqi politics and a stubborn Iraqi president made things complicated. The point is that stability and a free and secure nation with a national identity was more than possible. And I'm using that example to illustrate how under Bush, people had hope, because security is possible. However under Obama, people act hopeless and weak, because that's the message the Obama administrations puts out there.
Bush was a leader. Obama is a politician. That's why I miss Bush.

All our fucking presidents are stupid but GW BUSH was the fucking worst. Worse than fucking REAGASM. Fuck you, OP. You're the greatest faggot in history.

When I was a liberal I hated bush, then obama comes along and now america is well on it's way to becoming Liberia 2.0.
And next up, sandy vag feminazi 3000.
Why doesn't the US just change it's name to The United States of Social Justice and Thought Police.
I'm out of this sinking ship, I'm moving abroad very shortly.
Enjoy getting arrested just for saying mean things, ameritards.

>>14Same. I was a liberal under Bush. Now I'm watching the world slip into chaos as our weak president caters, panders, and politicks instead of leads. At least Bush has a vision for stability in the world and backed it up by actually leading.
In 2016 I'll be voting primarily based on which candidate I think will have the balls to stop terrorism and terrorist-supporting nations in the world. The Earth is too important to elect another weak president.

Obama has been clearly far more respected and admired internationally compared to Bush. The U.S. has finally earned some dignity, grace, and respect back. I'm glad to be able to hold my head up high in terms of who's in the White House.
However, the national security situation is still pretty terrible. What this country needs is someone with intelligence, skill, and charisma (unlike Bush) but also a strong sense of national purpose and toughness (unlike Obama).
America needs someone like another Ike or another Lincoln or another T.R.

>>16That's not actually true outside of edgy leftist lemmings who trash talk. Bush commanded a great deal of respect throughout the world, and his legacy is ongoing with many nations recognizing that taking an active role against terorrism is the right thing to do.
Even Obama adopted many of Bush's international policies.

Ok let me start off by saying I hated when Bush was elected I knew it was going to be bad and shit was going to get fucked up. I voted for Obama thinking maybe that things were going to actually "change" but after a while realized it was all the same.
I don't like either president as a whole but I respect certain things each president did. I'm not going to touch on the economic side of things but I will go in depth about the counter terrorism policies each president had this may be a wall of text so prepare thy self.
Were first going back into the 90's where neo-conservatives had been ousted out for a long time after the Iran-Contra debacle, no one wanted to listen to them for obvious reasons (mainly because they were bat shit crazy at the time and still are for the most part). They were put on lockdown in the clinton administration with it's terrorism and assassination policies requiring white house approval and going through a long list of oversight effectively removing the sword from the fighting force. I'm not talking about the regular army here, more about the Devgru, Delta Force, JAU, even including the CIA black sites around the world. In the Clinton era this was all muffled with an intense oversight program to try and prevent civilian causalities.
I'm just going to separate this into several posts.

>>19It's a matter of fact and not opinion that views of the U.S. and respect for the U.S. was lower under Bush than under Obama. Denying that is like claiming that the Earth has gotten colder or that the Egyptians were helped by space aliens.
22 Name: SuperFratBoyExtreme : 2015-02-19 20:59
Bush was a traitor. he blew up the twin towers so he would have an excuse to go to war to get richer from oil and pass the patriot act so the government can spy on their own people and take away all their rights
he know about 9/11 and did nothing
HE IS A FAGGOT!!!!!

As much as I think that the U.S. has reasons to get involved in the Middle East I feel horrible about how anti-airplane missles are just casually moved here by U.S. forces. For fuck's sake, it's beyond easy for some fucking douche to come across a Stinger and then fire it at a full airliner crammed with women and children. Why the hell didn't Bush-Reagan-Clinton-whomever care?
Send money, maybe, don't send them fucking anti-aircraft shit.

>>20As well as try to prevent collateral damage (basically the innocent victim reports you hear about all the fucking time now). Back then the big players in the neo-con ring where the Cheney's, McChrystal's, and McRaven's there are more but I'll see if I can find their name in a little bit. While not major people at the time in the scope of where they would eventually be they would lay down the ground work for what the future of the US counter terrorism policy would be. Now lets move onto the Bush era 9/11 happens and the world is mourning and the US is looking for blood. By now everyone knows there was no WMD's in Iraq but we used it for "oil". While that is partially true we didn't kneed it at the time we were using Iraq as a launching pad to go into other middle eastern nations and rooting out Al Qaeda, Taliban, AQAP, and other terrorist cells ranging from Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, and other nations in that area.

>>6you sir, are a fucking idiot.
The War on Terror will never end, thats the point. It was declaring an endless war so idiots like you will fear a "terrorist boogeymen" that lives 1000's of miles away, and focus your attention on them. Meanwhile polticians at home rip up the constitution in order to combat "duh turrirsts" and you applaud it, because you are too busy focusing on some cavedwelling goat farmer who has no affect on your life whatsoever

Only a true amerifag could think Bush was a good president... its amazing to me how incredibly dumb you people are, how extremely blind you are around all the important issues in the world.
War on Terror? You do realize Bush and the US Goverment allowed 9/11 to happen so they would have an excuse to invade parts of the Middle East where theres a lot of oil, right?
You realize he "made up" the fact Iraq had weapons of mass destruction so the amerifat people would support the invasion? You understand they never found any and after the war admitted they hadn't found any?
He was also incredibly dumb. Maybe thats why you liked him. He was placed in power by his daddys friends in the supreme court and then used your money and your children to "fight terror".
I hope he comes back, or his brother becomes president, maybe that will be all that is needed to push "America" over the edge and create a civil war. Most of you will probably need to die if this planet stands a chance for a future.
not b8
100% what I think and other anons outside the US think
bush is basically the most important reason why almost all the world hates you

>>27i know this is true. Only merica fags that have never left Mississippi actually believe on the War on Terror
Any american that is smart enough to travel, know our whole foreign policy is a lie
Politicians rely on the fact that America is isolated from the rest of the world to push their agendas. they know most Americans have no idea what other countries are like, so they can paint the picture however they want
If you have travelled, you know the whole thing is a sham and as much of a mess as The failed war on drugs.
29 Name: Anonymous : 2015-02-19 22:12
>>28The failed war on drugs
War on drugs is a joke to cover up the major CIA drug traffic. It's about getting a grip on the market. There never ever was an actual war on drugs. Also, most of USA are drug addicts. Administrations live on cocaine.

>>25Back in the Bush era the neo-cons were pushing hard for what they wanted as a "New World Order" a US that could be at any place at any time within hours and not within days-weeks waiting on "actionable intelligence". They reformatted the entire way the US counter terrorism worked removing all oversight procedures from congress while also granting themselves power to eventually operate in a uni-lateral way on their own (i.e. Obama era) they also wanted to strip JSOC away from the CIA (it used to be setup as the CIA called the shots when it came to terrorism) and have them both work independently the benefits thought to be from this, was that JSOC wouldn't have to rely on the CIA's foreign mercenary armies and could just go in on their own and get the job done. Basically imagine regular army taking on CIA duties, but the thing is JSOC was the best of the best, literally the point of the spear for the US. So it was able to due all of the CIA's duties and some might argue more. But here is where it gets kinda funny Bush being a conservative felt that the neo-con's were going to far he would often deny some policies Cheney etc. would want to implement. He also wanted to put off JSOC being a uni-lateral organization to where it could operate in any country at any time. Instead he tried to remove AQAP's presence in Somalia by having the CIA fund the warlords who were causing the chaos and over throw the semi-stable government at the time (surprising I know Somalia was for a short period of time on the recovery) and put in the War Lords as the ones in power. This obviously didn't work out Somalia spiraled even further into chaos and AQAP was able to come in as the "saviors to somalia" and in turn have the backing of the entire country effectively making it impossible for us to help.

I wonder like at what point the pro-war-on-terror guys would even start in the slightest to be concerned about the whole 'Fortress America' movement.
I mean, for fuck's sake, just look at what's being talked about:
Bringing back the draft.
Private firearms being confiscated if they're 'assault weapons' or whatever.
Drones monitoring Americans on American soil.
Rise of 'no knock raids'.
Rise of militarized police in general.
Total NSA monitoring of just about all private communications in the U.S.
People that protest about gun regulations and the like being put on database lists and such because supposedly wanting Constiutional rights respected makes you 'dangerous'.
And it goes on.
At what point are you guys going to admit that being worried about the 'war on terror' shit is a smokescreen and you just want omnipotent big government? I sure as fucking hell think some bullshit rule saying that firearms painted brown are fine but ones painted black are somehow immoral has jack fucking shit to do with 'national security'.

If he were alive, do any of you think Sadaam Hussein would have taken any crap from ISIS? FUCK NO! They would be wiped from the planet.
Thanks to your precious "W", the world is free of that dictator and as a result, the middle east is in chaos and Islamic terrorism is spreading. Go ahead and pat yourselves on the back for a "Mission Accomplished".

>>31the rise of militrized police started with the WAR on drugs. Prison rates have skyrockted as a result.
Addiction rates have remained the same.
The War on Drugs is a lie, just like the War on Terror.

>>30Now by this time the Bush era was drawing to a close JSOC was even more powerful then it had ever been. We had a world wide counter terrorism presence with little oversight but with the election of Obama (if you remember he was extremely hawkish for a Democrat even some republicans praised him) we would see JSOC reach it's apex as a terrorism fighting organization. Once Obama was elected he got to work immediately gave JSOC more power and granted them the authority to enter countries such as Pakistan, Yemen, Turkey, etc. without the countries permission and even some of our own allies he allowed SOF to conduct operations in. This was unprecedented seeing as Congress was always at the least bit in the know of what was going on, now no information was being let out and JSOC, CIA were allowed to run truly free for the first time.
Yes that's right Obama achieved the Cheney wet dream not Bush.
You name it we used black sites, abducted thousands of people based on "reasonable intelligence" I forgot to mention he removed the need for actionable intelligence and if the operators had a gut feeling that they were a target they went for it. He expanded the US "hit list" by hundreds of targets and worked instead of trying to eliminate the head targets of terrorist organizations. He went for the central body of the organizations effectively removing operating ability for them. He increased the UAV program by granting hundreds of strikes within the first 3 month of his presidency compared to Bush's 1-6 times in his 8 years (I may be off on these numbers). He was doing everything in his power to root out Al Qaeda (by this time Taliban was growing in Yemen but was a shadow of its former self and AQAP wasn't worth mentioning at the time).

I love how people blame Bush for ISIS too now. ISIS was Obama's baby. YAY ARMING THE REBELS!
Al Qaeda and ISIS are prime examples of why you don't go out and give rebels you don't fully understand weaponry, even against someone you really don't like. You're opening Pandora's box. The thing in the box may love you for your help, it may ignore you, or immediately try to kill your ass.

>>20,25,30,34So everyone saying that Obama is/was a weak president are full of shit, just because he isn't using conventional ground troops (pulling them out trying to limit the causalities we've received) doesn't mean he isn't taking aggressive measures through other ways with our armed forces. I'm honestly tired of people going on about "oh he doesn't even say terrorism, he must not think it exist's" or "he refuses to send ground troops against ISIS herpa derpa dumb president" seem to forget that Obama did more in his first 4 years then Bush ever could have achieved in his entire 8. Oh and to counter any "well if he is using forces against ISIS why isn't it on the news" That's because half the shit I posted was released years after it had happened through interviews and investigations just because something isn't said to be happening doesn't mean it isn't actually fucking happening.
But of course you dumb niggers will continue to argue blindly without looking into shit.
