Gloucestershire is up there with the weird counties (Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, Norfolk), but North Yorkshire and Sussex take the top spots.

North Yorkshire is the only place I've been in my life where people will stop in the middle of the road, blocking it entirely, to play conkers with a mate. And instead of running them over or being incredibly angry like they would elsewhere, the people got out of their cars and watched the match. Sussex is the same place it was 500 years ago and they take bonfire night far too seriously.

in northern michigan there's like a 600 foot dune at a 70 degree incline and it's mad fun to sprint down the hill always with the danger of tripping and cartwheeling the whole way down to the beach.
