I have a real fear of trying. Mostly because I am wired to perpetually think that I'm under qualified/not good enough. When I actually do go for things like jobs or whatever, I usually come out as over qualified for very likeable. What is my psychological issue and how can I break out of this anxiety ridden mental fog?

Go somewhere where no one recognizes you and you know people will never ever see you again. Just use these people as practice for anything and if you fuck up you'll never see them again. Do it to build up confidence until you are ready to try on your own.
