birth control advice.

My girlfriend doesn't have medical insurance (america, fuck yeah). She used to and her birth control was free. Today we went to pick it up and it was $200. She can't afford that because she is straight out of college and doesn't have the money. I am still in college but am graduating in about a week. I will probably get a job in the next few months that pays reasonably. She asked me if I'd be willing to help pay for the birth control.

I am reticent to do so 1. I have no say whether or not she is on it, it's her decision. And we already use condoms. 2. I've told her she should get insurance (even though it's expensive there are plans that cost as much as she is already spending on medication) and she won't listen. And 3. I will probably end up paying for all of it if I start helping to pay for it.

What should I do? What do I tell her?
We are going to planned parenthood to see what they have to say..

Me and my GF have both tested fertile - we have been together and fucking for 4 years with no birth control, roughly 2-3 times per week.

Learn some self control you faggot.

What do you mean no birth control? Like no condoms?

1. you are going to get her pregnant
2. One of you actually isn't fertile
3. You are extremely lucky.

no fucking way that the pill costs 200$

Its her decision
wrong.

she won't listen
Don't expect this to change once she balloons and you are stuck with her shit forever.

Don't pay for her shit. People have to learn how to take care of themselves.
If a woman can't pay for her own birth control then how do you expect her to pay her share of the rent.

HA like we live together. I'm in college so I stay at her place a lot but have told her I didn't feel comfortable moving in with her and plan on getting my own place when I graduate

$200? That is fucking absurd. Birth control got removed from the standard insurance for women over 18 years of age where I live, but my mother recently told me that it costs below €20,- for three months anyway.

Don't pay for shit. I bet you're already paying for both of your fun when you go out to buy condoms. If she isn't willing to change insurance it's definitely on her if you're back to using condoms.

Tell me dawg how are you gonna take care of yourself in your own place if you are paying for someone else's medical expenses?
She has to learn to do things for herself. This is a valuable lesson that people aren't taught anymore.

Look on the drug manufacture's website for coupon codes or a pharmacy discount card - these are more common than you think and some will pay 100% the cost of the medication. If not, apply for insurance at a new job and put her under your plan, the generics would be very cheap under almost any insurance that covers Tier 1 drugs.

Any family planning facility will give birth control out for free or little cost.

If youre planning on marriage in the future, youre going to need to learn how to share your living expenses. Just being honest.

There are plans available on healthcare.g that are pretty cheap and if you dont make a lit of money, you can get a cost break on the monthly plan. I pay 160 a month for my particular plan (because its a good plan and i make too much to get a break on the cost). There are ones much cheaper than that, though.

And why no job? Even while i was in college i had a job, and worked roughly 30 hours a week (while going to school full time).

Time to grow up, friends.

Hey bro I'm not saying leave the bitch, but if you aren't a family you don't have any obligation to pay for anything that is solely Her responsibility.
>>14
If he isn't comfortable moving in with her than marriage seems unlikely

I know that's not what you are saying. It's something I've been thinking about for a while.

I did the minimum wage thing too, it covered most of the living expenses between my husband and I both working. Not that it was easy living though. Why doesnt she have a job yet?

Wait till Planned Parenthood. Bring statements that she is poor. You will get free birth control. I did this for years, and am glad for it. The last thing someone needs is some crotchfruit adding extra cost to the tax system.

So did you pull out every time, or what? Even if you did, you're just extraordinarily lucky.

Literally the first time my wife and I had unprotected sex, she got pregnant.
