I'm considering lying about a degree in order to get a job that I won't hate.

It doesn't matter WHICH job, just as long as I get the fuck away from waiting tables and cleaning fucking plates.

I'm 24 years old. Thinking applying for entry level positions or internships to start some sort of career. People barely check anyway, and at this point I feel like I have nothing to lose. Even if I ended up blacklisted from something, I'm living in a foreign country and I'm already at the bottom of the economic ladder.

Thoughts/advice? Which degree should I fake? I'm thinking marketing, or maybe philosophy. I don't know anything, really, about either, but I'm sure there are some online courses to fill me in on the basics.

for any job that requires a degree, they actually DO check to make sure you're qualified. that being said, if you get the .01% that do not check,. you will be immediately fired on the first day for obviously not knowing anything about the field.

the reason you think people "barely check" is because you've only ever done entry level positions that don't require degrees (like clearing tables and cleaning plates) and they aren't going to bother checking what degree you have for that.

also, there are no internships for fields in philosophy. MArketing jobs and internships WILL Check your degrees.

considering how fucking dumb you are, you will probably be stuck doing what you're doing for a very long time. maybe forever.

but heres your one chance ot get it right: go for entry level office jobs.

being a receptionist comes with minimum wage and no tips, but it often comes with raises, and is a comfortable job. if you can use 4ct you can PROBABLY do entry level computer and organization work. bonus points if you teach yourself softwares that help with bookkeeping.

I have a film degree, but get paid 12 dollars an hour managing a small office where most of my work is reception, and accounting.

it's such bullshit that half the jobs that require university degrees can be done by pretty much any idiot off the street.

when our parents were our age, it was common practice to finish highschool, apply for jobs in whatever field you wanted to work in, find a job and start a career.

now you need to blow a dickload of your cash on uni, plus years worth of time wasted, just to compete in a job market that praises HR circlejerking over actual ability.
