Does anyone else here consider themselves a feminist, yet fucking hates feminists? I mean, what other community feels the need to post fucking trigger warnings, in order to prevent their emotionally weak members from offing themselves? Is it even possible to want equal rights and respect for women without calling white cis-gendered people oppressive shitlords? I wholeheartedly subscribe to the ideology, but it feels like I'm the only rational dude in a sea of anxiety riddled anarchist trannies who give a fuck about ableist slurs.

I dunno... Every movement needs a radical front to shift the median worldview. Studying ableism in society isn't necessarily important right now but it's a step in the right direction for a more egalitarian society.

Feminism in the 60's and 70's was about the fact that women weren't widely viewed as people. They were eye candy, sex toys, baby makers, and food processors. Some of them were upset about this transaction and sought to renegotiate by doing oddball shit like burning their bras. After a while, it started to actually work; the only people who still thought of them as objects were old people and the rich who both equally resent and resist change.

Times have changed now and there's a growing population of hateful female supremacists calling themselves feminists and preaching what can only be described as bigotry against straight, white men. The pay gap has evaporated, catcalling was only ever performed by complete assholes, but these man-hating dykes still think it's the 70's and they're gonna bring the patriarchy down.

I was told not too long ago (in an online group discussion) that white people are oppressive by nature of existing. When I asked for clarification (being a white male) I was laughed at and told "I'll be damned, as a queer WOC, if I give into the demands of a cis straight white dude!" I pointed out the obvious problem with declaring the existence of an entire race of people a problem, and was threatened with censure for "talking over a woman." I refuse to believe that this is what feminism really is.

Yeah, I think it's pretty obvious to everyone who isn't a total asshole that unless you're actually fucking them, people should treat other people the same regardless of sex or who they like to fuck, since that's none of anyones goddamn business but their own.

I'd be for feminism if it were just about equality, but these movements always go farther and cause even more imbalance, worsening the problem.

Movements are generally a bad idea. People are usually cool on an individual basis, but get them together into groups and the very worst behavior takes over. Friends, sports, politics, religion. Every. Fucking. Time. Humans are not to be trusted in numbers.

But the real question is do you believe can be equal? Second: Why does it matter we treat each other as equals? I believe people should be equal in the eyes of the law, but other than that its impossible to make people equal, because everyone has different experiences and privileges. Twins aren't even equal. Why do we have a duty to have a certain respect for others though? Just because were told to do so?

I'm an intersectional socialist so I appreciate a lot of feminist theory, even radfem theory. There are plenty of voices that I think are not productive, some in the radfem camps and some in mainstream libfem circles. But I don't think its productive for me or any other privileged person to go on and on criticizing the more batty elements of the movement, especially when there's no movement that doesn't have at least it's share of moonbats..

I'd say if you support equal rights and respect for women, that makes you a feminist. I've been under the impression that true feminism and egalitarianism are one and the same, but my recent experiences with so called feminists have me questioning that notion.

First world women literally are complaining that men look at them in public and compliment them...
That's where we're at now. This is the biggest injustice in the world to them.

These women actually wake up every day, see all the shit going on in this world, see women being raped in Africa and Syria and they think; yup I should focus my efforts on this.

I cannot understand this.
