From overpaid athletes to politicians which I hate from the deepest parts of my "soul", I've come to a point, where I feel like there is not much what I can live for. I see honest and sincere people dying of hunger, while rich just get richer. People praying to god, hoping that there is something. Its ignorant, sad mixed with strange behavior (strange to myself) that these individuals show.

I feel like we seriously failed as a species. Everything we do revolves around luxury. Am I the only person thinking how shallow lives we live on this rock? Does it really matter if you have a big house with a pool and bunch of needless shit that you don't even deserve? Is that what you really want? To talk about Kim Kardashian and buy things? To eat greasy fucking food and drive newest cars, then next year buy even newer, and next year newer... Wow what a wonderful life.

Take it this way OP, I hold a donation drive around christmas for homeless people. We choose about 5 actual candidates with actual goals and the money we raise will go to those 5 guys to get them off the streets so they can clean up and get a job etc. Donations are usually accepted at the end of the summer and we give them to the people on Christmas. This year we only raised $120. If that isn't a sad statement on society today I don't know what is.

You are essentially right, OP, but there's no need to kill yourself. Things are pretty shitty, but there's no guarantee that all is lost. Even if it really is all fucked, you should resist it anyway.

You could kill yourself and amount to nothing, or you could be a light in the darkness for others who feel the same as you. You'll eventually die anyway, so you might as well die fighting.

These guys are good people, that's how we choose the 5 who will get helped out. They're not the lazy fucking drug addicts you see most of the time. These people are actually trying to get jobs and get out of that life. They're good people so they don't really deserve it. 1$ from people who can spare it isn't really to much to ask for these guys to have a nice Christmas. It's so heartwarming on Christmas because by the end these guys pretty much have close friends they can be with and enjoy they're time being warm, while in the meantime they can start looking for jobs.

I kinda feel the same way sometimes, but I think it's important to keep in mind that for every drunk-driving celebrity getting paid to be on TV, there's a musician teaching someone to express themselves through music. For every deadbeat father who spends his time neglecting his children to drink, there's an old couple running a homeless shelter. For every senseless murder, young lovers meeting each other for the first time, not yet knowing just how long and happy their marriage will be. The NSA casually shits all over our constitutionally promised right to privacy on the internet and cellphones, but it's nuts that we even have the technology to communicate with people on a whole other continent. Maybe this is just my opinion, but I feel that the good outweighs the bad. This world is crazy as fuck, but goddamn am I ever glad I got to experience it.
