Has anyone had any experience with modafinil ? I currently have an adderal prescription for ADD (20mg XR x2). I like the drug in general but if im on it too long (12+ hours) my lip will be chewed raw. I want to switch so any input is appreciated.

Modafinil has not been shown to be effective in treating ADHD. Try a different med. Desoxyn is also an amphetamine so it may give you the same side effects, but there are other non amphetamines you can be prescribed. Methylphenidate is the most common, brand names Focalin, Ritalin, and Concerta. If you plan on occasionally abusing the substance, go for Focalin or Ritalin. Concerta has a time release that is fucking hard to break, and it's basically impossible to snort.

Recently used this during the week for final exams. Took about two pills (half a pill each time), kept me awake and focused, dramatically reduced the amount of time I slept from 10 hours to 4-5. Made it quite easy to get through a night of study etc. Had about 12 hours in a given 80 hour period.

i have delayed sleep phase disorder, been on melatonin for 1.5 years, thats changed my life but i now feel groggy as fuck throughout the day, im 28 no driving licence because if i drive longer than 2 hours ill fall asleep.

dr's wont prescribe modafinil to me.
drs wont prescribe anything to me
drs were wanting me to go onto serotonin inhibitors rather than fucking melatonin..

Okay, you know what Adderal feels like, and here's how I can describe moda to be like:

Modafinil

Will keep you up for a solid 16 hours when you don't want it to. When you do want it to keep you awake, it won't.

You'll be super productive for about 2-3 days and then it seems to wear off.

Adrafinil

Supposed to metabolize to modafinil via your liver. Legal in US without prescription. Does absolutely fuckall in terms of concentration or wakefulness. Throw your money in the garbage for the same experience.

Desoxyn is METHamphetamine, and probably the hardest drug to get prescribed to you out of any drug. Dont be so willing to try it either, its a last resort for ADHD. meth is neurotoxic even in therapeutic doses.
