Do you really need to know your way around proxy routers

and shit to explore the deep/dark web or can you just install TOR and look around?

You can explore with TOR, but as far as downloading/watching/exploring the real SITES I would suggest learning more.
Don't expect much though, it's a lot of bullshit before you actually find anything good.

Im over 40 but not IT wizard, know the basics

It's boring. The whole creepy videos on YouTube that say that someone tracked them down or that they found a red room site is complete crap.
Live streaming is impossible
Majority of sites dont work , are made to scare visitors and are honeypots

For people who say "I stumbled onto a
cp
site ( Takedownman ) " or "I found a red room site when clicking a whole bunch of links" are lying.
You dont "stumble" onto something , you have to look for it.

Ive seen my fair share of fucked up sites on Tor

Sites like 4ct, letmewatchthis are level 2 of the deepweb, all the other sites below u need vpns proxies and hacker logistics. i dont know how to get on there myself since i dont wanna get hacked and go to jail for cp or death rooms or even assasins. the deep web isnt a joke dont go there all willy nilly be prepared to see some sick shit. i saw a video about the dark web on buzzfeed yellow and i heard takedownman stories on his channel, look it up and start there if u really wanna find out info
8 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-10 20:20
Thats interesting ive seen some takedownman vids and quite fancy a look. Certainly not interested in cp but some of the other stuff im up for exploring a bit further

You're lucky if you find a site that actually works.

Wait so we're technically on the deep web right now in a way? That's awesome!

We are in the Bergie level above deep web.

No. Everything that was in the "Deeo Web" section falls in with the "Surface Web." Take it like this:

Anything you can find on Google Chrome , Firefox , Internet Explorer etc. is part of the "Surface Web." Such as porn , Bots , sex tapes etc..

Deep Web
You need TOR to access this. This is everything that's illegal and not allowed on regular www. , .org etc. This includes drug markets , CP , prostitution etc..
Of course you can find all of that on the Surface web.

Anything thats on the deep web can be found on the surface web but its highly illegal.

TOR is good enough to bypass most corporate snoops, but the feds cracked it long ago.

What are you looking for, exactly? What do you hope to find?
14 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-10 20:45
what is real tor browser download?

Oh I thought this was the wrong one, it searches with DuckDuckGo? There are no links that are different either even when you go to websites.
17 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-10 20:53
>>16
That is their official site, you risk downloading adware or malware if you get it off of another site. Yes, DuckDuckGo is the search engine that you start off with, but that is something you can change.

Not looking for anything in particular just exploration of what's out there and what the darker side of humanity is doing. I dont get offended by things and i say again def not looking for cp but the takemedown youtube clips got me thinking and needing to know more
19 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-10 21:01
Ok you want some actual advice rather than some bullshit, it goes like this, yes you can just download the tor extension for firefox and dive into the deep web on a windows pc, however, you would have to be insane to do this, mainly due to the swiss cheese security in Windize. There are so many windows exploits (including zero day ones) that you will get royally fucked over by haxxor types - there are many.

For your own protection go and download an OS called tails, it's a linux distro designed for deep web use, it even has a search engine, you'll need to install that, I use a laptop for deep web shit and nothing else.

You'll also need a bitcoin wallet if you don' t have one already, all the sick shit you want to see will be bought using bitcoin for security/annonymity purposes.

People talk about red rooms and a lot of people ask if they're real, well, yes and no, as already stated, what you won't see is live streamed torture, due to the way tor works streaming video is nigh on impossible, what you will be able to do is download (after paying) torture videos. So are red rooms real, content delivery isn't, the torture most likely is though, a lot of it hails from countries where life is cheap and people can disappear without too much fuss. So get tails, learn the ways of the linux (master pc race) operating system and keep your wits about you.

Dont trust TakeDownman. He has a shady past and I'm pretty sure he actively searches for CP.

To understand tor you gotta realize that YOU HAVE TO SET OUT AND LOOK FOR STUFF. You dont find anything randomly , you search for it.

Id suggest to use a search engine that actually searches Tor. If youd like more info then ask.

Hey OP, I am a mod on an animal gore community .onion site, we are a member only site and we value our user's privacy and freedom of speech. We host animal gore because sites like this censor us and ban us for expressing our rights. All members are completely anonymous and there is no limit to what is posted, but please keep in mind that you should edit out any identifiable information contained on your photos or videos, we can not do anything if/when law enforcement obtains that content. We have multiple sections and over 50 active users. Some of our sections include, softcore animal gore, hardcore HD, animal stomping, OC Photos & Videos, craigslist animals, torture and misc. We are a fairly new site, we started our community early March, after ACE got shut down. I can give you a guest pass if you are interested in seeing this content, provide an email or kik and I can send you the .onion link with a 24 hour guest pass code.

If you're in America, I would be way more careful.

It's easy as fuck to download tor, get the hidden wiki link and use that to find stuff, a LOT of that stuff is honeypots and other such crap. Most popular CP links on the hidden wiki are currently dead.

You're also not just going to be able to look through the hidden wiki for sites selling children and torture videos. Those sites exist, but have an extremely select clientele. They would never just be plastered across a page anyone can access in less than 5 minutes.

If you just want to get TOR and look around at stuff that isn't very illegal, then don't sweat it. The FBI will not break down your door the moment you install it.
26 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-10 22:49
The deep web is boring as fuck alot of dead links. The good websites (not porn) require and invite/Bitcoin up front to a shady email. Also you just don't stumble into shit here unless you just click random links if you do this you deserve to get fucked. Try it and be disappointed like i was.
27 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-11 01:34
Don't download anything and stay away from anything that looks even the least bit sketch
28 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-11 03:10
I know it's not indexed, but is there a good way to search? Hidden wiki seems very out of date.

Yes I'm a newfag
29 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-11 04:22
theres nothing mind blowing, waste of time
30 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-11 06:11

31 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-11 09:22
Its not worth setting up to browse onion sites. Its not secure. remember that they took down Silk Road.
32 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-11 10:45
don't be in a hurry. Loading a text page take about 25 minutes.

oniondir is half decent, hidden wiki is alright but it's just 50/50 bitcoin scams and stuff you could find on clearnet. Make sure you go to about:config and disable javascript in case you accidentally end up on cp. Emphasis on the word 'accidentally', I'm gonna assume you're not looking for that shit like the rest of us normal folk, but if you are you should see about getting therapy instead. Also know that tor is compromised these days. So don't risk it, get some help.
34 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-11 14:16
Advice: dont get to excited or scared. Its difficult to actually come across something "bad" unless you are actively searching for it. And hidden wiki isnt terrible, but as you said, out of date. Dk how many links actually work, not many though. Goodluck anon
35 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-11 15:34
don't click the twitter icon
36 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-11 19:26
What the fuck is the fascination with the darknet?
All it's good for is ordering shit. If you're not interested in weapons or drugs; all you're left with is old conspiracy websites that are laughable and fucked up videos. And you can see both of those things on the normal web.

38 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-11 22:17
Check out the torture channel. It's really fucked up.
39 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-12 04:37
Thanks /comp/

Just wanted to see what the fuss was all about.

I had heard Tor is compromised before. I'm surprised it hasn't been replaced with something better yet. I'm pretty sure Tor was in use before P2P went down the tubes.

advice

Look for Black hat hackers aka Crackers websites use them take over the internet.
45 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-12 14:55
don't expect anything
there is no edgy spooki deep web full of stuff you already can't find on a normal browser

except for illegal stuff like CP but you have to pay to see stuff like that

anything that looks even the least bit sketch

Everything on tor is sketchy, anon.
49 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-12 18:11
complete waste of time but if you're heading on some sketchy sites make sure javascript is disabled
50 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-12 07:40
Use tails.

Read tutorials on how to stay safe.

Disable java!

And remember what you see cannot be unseen.

Now, champ, go have fun!

I went there one time. It's nothing but bullshit. All of it is just a scam to gyp you out of something.

The only place that was actually reliable was the Silk Road, but now that it's gone, there's nothing you can find on there that you couldn't reasonably find on the surface web.
57 Name: Anonymous : 2017-04-16 02:18
