Hey /lounge/ I have a tech question for you guys
inb4 stupid imageboards /g/

Im sure you guys have an answer for this one.

My pc currently has two exhaust fans. Top and back. Pretty standard. And two 140mm intake fans at the front. Is it a bad idea to replace the top exhaust fan with something more powerful like a all in one style liquid cpu cooler or it will it not matter?

if you dont know if it will matter then it wont because its obviously something standard and not one you have thought about or built

This should be probably pretty obvious to OP because he seems like a bright guy but the reason why they say to use is as an intake is because the air from outside the case is cooler than the air inside the case, which cools the liquid in the radiator faster. If your case has really, really, really, really bad airflow then potentially the difference in air temperature might be like 15°C (or if you put all your clothes on it or something maybe more, I dunno) but if it's that bad then it won't matter what you do because it would be hard to make it worse.

I have an H100i running on a top of case exhaust and its fine. I have a front intake and rear exhaust as well. The CPU is like 35°C under load when the fan is on full, but the GPU gets up above 50°C under the same conditions.

Just buy it and install it and check your temps with SpeedFan or something under load to make sure that something hasn't gone wrong, and then adjust if necessary.
