I want to settle this once and for all. Is there any KNOWN public or private distributed software or system that is technically 'lower' or 'deeper' than Tor? We've all seen those datagrams that have all that bullshit ie Marianas Web; but lurking in threads and research since about 09' ive never heard of anything besides shitty tech pasta. Based on threads/research i still consider Tor the 'lowest' form of the web.

Why was tor released to the public?

Obviously tor has backdoors - it is a giant monitoring program for unsavory types of people.

Use Tor if you want, but don't be a fag about it. If you start downloading shit then you're a moron. There's plenty of clearnet sites that you can use that will provide you with the sort of thing you're looking for.

Tor is over. Is is literally less safe to browse than the clear web. It is basically one big honeypot.

That being said back in the golden age of tor (2009-2012) I have seen some shit. The worst being hurtcore. That shit is fucked.

enable noscript (meaning scripts are disabled) and you are now free to browse the net anonymously. Regardless of what anyone says Tor is still safe to browse the clearnet. Watch out for some .onion sites though. Sometimes what i do is I will go to a web proxy while in tor (kproxy or anonymouse) and surf through those while in tor. That cannot be traced, slow though.
