soup /comp/

so i have an external hard drive attached to my windows 7 desktop (WD My Passport if it makes a difference) and i keep getting all these random folders appearing out of nowhere with just random combinations of letters and numbers. so can anyone tell me wtf those are? i delete em and they come back slowly, different folders every time. when i click em it says i dont have access to the folders and i have to click continue to get admin access. most of em are either empty or have a file called MpMiniSigStub in it.

That's solid advice OP. Go to explorer, and type C:\Windows\System32 in your address bar and delete that folder. It's a quick fix most IT guys use

Either made by a program without your knowledge to store data and cache, or a result of failing/ partially corrupt data allocation tables. Either run repair tools/ get a new hard drive, or follow the other kind anon's directions and delete system 32 to kill any viruses.

you got a virus, son. try viewing the drive through a shell, like ACDSEE, that shows all the hidden files. then prepare to shit bricks.
