Fix the ending to one of your favorite anime that didn't end strongly.
Instead of just getting surgery from injuries, Hagu dies in the window accident from blood loss. Distraught, the four friends and sensei try to deal with the death through the last few episodes.
Shinobu goes off the deep end and has to be helped by his brother (repairing their relationship enormously).
Takemoto struggles but limps through graduation, acknowledging that he will always be carrying memories of Hagu (consistent with his prince generic MC arc).
Mayama is distraught in Spain, Rika is unable to connect with him and help him through the death, being reminded of her own husband. He flies back to Japan. He and Ayumi console each other. Ayumi has more hope than ever for their relationship but wonders if it will always be tainted. Mayama feels guilty for using Ayumi and wonders if his feelings are real. They end on VERY good terms but unclear if actually dating.
At least it's better than an abrupt incest ending and any amount of Hagu dialogue.
