I don't understand the huge cult following this anime has received. I mean sure, I get it, it's oozing with style. But aside from that I don't really see how it's managed to get such a status.

There's no major overarching plot, only hints of it with the Viscious scenes in a couple of episodes which doesn't lead to anything aside from the last 2 episodes.

The character development almost barely exists and is mostly shoved into the later part of the second half. Character development is mostly substituted with backstory exposition which again, happens mostly during the second half.

The action scenes aren't something amazing either. Pretty cool sure, but nothing that makes it stand out.

There isn't much fanservice to carry it either.

Am I just a fucktard that somehow managed to miss out something crucial here or is this show, while pretty damn good, kind of overrated?
