Used copies of Canon EOS 5D now have very affordable price, however, Canon no longer produce Canon 5D since 2008, so, copies of Canon 5D now are roughly 8-10 years old

Issues:
- Glas. You need the GLAS to use this camera. Unlike Nikon, getting cheap (but brilliant, if in good condition) manual AI lenses from ca 1977-1990 are not an option with Canon. So in the end you'll end up spending a LOT on good glas.
- Repairs. Especially shutter life is an issue there. Its rather unlikely now that Canon would be still able to repair the 5D when asked to, isnt it ?
- Advertisements. Of course the 5D was a workhorse back in its time, the tool of professionals, who made many memorable images with this. And surprisingly it can still take just as good photographs today as it could back then. However, any advertisement will tell you otherwise. So - can you resist the pleasure ? Whats your drug ? More Megapixels ? Better AF ? New Gimmicks like Lifeview ? Video ? Many chances to get hooked and believe its just THAT feature that you still really need.
For the record - I got to (Nikon) full frame because I missed HSS (High Speed Sync, the ability to flash even if the shutter speed is high, called FastFP for Nikon), and the D7x00 line just didnt looked like a substantial enough upgrade.
