I was born in an area that unless you want to do hard labour for the rest of your life for minimum wage there are no jobs. I don't want to leave my family and I don't want to fucking live a life that I can't enjoy. I can't just move to another city because all the cities in this frozen dead hell are hours upon hours apart from each other and like I said I don't want to leave my family.

Suicide is a psuedo-alternative to a weak mans problems so I'm not doing that but fuck what else is there? Why do we lie to our kids that they can be anything they want when they grow up so life can hit them like a fucking train at 18 with no experience or knowledge of the real world /secert lounge/? At this point I'd rather live in a post=apocalyptic world trying to rebuild itself so I can use continuation of the human race as an excuse for a shit life instead of "This is just what I do now because this is where I was born"

I wasted my life and am fully aware of it, I know entirely its my fault and that everything i did growing up was wrong. but it happened it wont un-happen and i was too stupid to acknowledge it then to stop it from happening

I don't see why you'd want to stay. I stayed where I went to university, 3.5 hours from where I grew up, and I wish I went further away. I have an awesome job, good pay, but I regret bot moving far far away. I'm 24 and was dumb enough to get a mortgage, so I'm pretty much stuck here now. Not a bad life, but I was a loser growing up. I want to forget my past. I can be flirting with a 9/10 girl at the bar, then I see someone I went to high school with and it just drags me back down. I can't believe I'm a new person when I see someone who knew the old me. I have no attachment to where I'm from or the people I knew, other than for my ageing dog back home.

If you learn web development there's lots of freelance work. Same with any software job. I'm a software dev, it's really not that hard, especially if you limit the scope. You don't need to be able to do everything, just something that someone will pay you for.

I'd like to add that I was 18 before I started computer science. I went to university. Most of my classes were electives that wasted my time. Math, physics, philosophy, statistics, geology. And even in my cs classes, lots of time was wasted learning theoretical stuff. If you focus on just learning one thing, say web development, you'll learn much faster than I did. It took me 4 years to geta degree to get a job starting at $26.35/hr. If I focused on just computer science it would take a fraction of that to do it. And if I only focused on web development it would have taken a fraction of that fraction.

I'd say fuck'em op. Get as far away as you can.
