not shy, just quiet.
I'm a quiet person, and people always point it out like it's a bad thing. also, I'm always worried I'll get fired from my job for being classified as a "loner".

I think they're smart enough to not have to fill every moment of the day with mindless chatter and irrelevant or shallow conversation.
