New Star Trek thread seeing as last reached troll limit.
To start how about we talk about our favorite ship class. Personally I like the excelsior class. I like how it was a complete departure from previous designs in the series.

I dont know enough about all the ships to have a favourite :(

All I know is that Kirk and Riker would have had a great time together fucking bitches and fighting alien scum. I could live vicariously through them...

>>1I was always a fan of the small, fast ones like Defiant and Voyager.

>>3Have you watched Star Trek continues? New TOS era stuff with actual prediction values. Kirk generally being a pimp

>>4Defiant was great. I wonder if it could bring down a galaxy class ship
7 Name: Anonymous : 2015-06-01 22:08
favorite one off character?
favorite bridge member, no captains ?
8 Name: Anonymous : 2015-06-01 22:27
Miranda class. Or the USS Grissom.

TNG: Riker
Voyager: Seven
DS9: O'Brien
ENT: lol

>>9favourite one off character?
forgot this question, im a fag.
Gul Dukat before season 7

>>6That's a great "what if?" scenario. I'd call it a definite maybe. If the Defiant could dodge the Galaxy's weapons and stay alive long enough to bring its shields down, it could easily pump a few torpedoes into the Galaxy's deflector dish or whatever.
The main hurtle is not having something critical to the sustained evasion blow up.

>>7TNG: Worf
DS9: Worf
Voyager: Worf had to be on at least one episode of that.
ENT: kek

one off character
Not sure, probably Gul Macet
bridge officer
La Forge, basically a SFBE in space

>>12i've seen enough of worf. all this traditional klingon bullshit was pretty overused

>>13La Forge, basically a SFBE in space
lol
Probably not inventive but I like the Galaxy class. Also, is this restricted to federation ships? Because I also like the Romulan D'deridex class.

>>7One off: Barclay
mfw the day I realized Barclay was the same guy as Murdock from the A-Team
17 Name: Anonymous : 2015-06-01 23:22
>>15yes, the d-deridex is stunningly beautiful. I also for some reason like the old b'rel class birds of prey the klingons had. totally different mindset - a ship built for pure combat with the minimum crew to achieve that end.

>>15You have excellent taste.
No restrictions, any and all ships.

what i never get is how romulans, klingons, cardassians and other powers are serious opponents for federation.
federation has a trillion people, countless worlds over a few thousand lightyears. how can single races be a serious threat against them?

I've watched TNG and am on Voyager now (halfway through season 2). I like every character better on TNG than their counterpart aside from maybe the Doctor. I like him a lot. I am just not invested in like any of these characters.
21 Name: Anonymous : 2015-06-01 23:36
>>19because the federation is like murrica, only the earthicans actually defend anyone.
22 Name: Anonymous : 2015-06-01 23:43
Does anyone else like the new movies but consider them less than the old stuff?
I mean, they're good action movies and quite enjoyable, but they're not really the star trek i loved growing up.
23 Name: Anonymous : 2015-06-01 23:52
>>19world war 2 - germany vs everyone else.
they don't have a chance of defeating the federation, but they can annoy the shit out of them for a long time.
24 Name: Anonymous : 2015-06-01 23:53
>>17Yeah the b'rel class birds of prey are really cool. I do think that most of the klingon ships look the same, but then again that is just going by appearance rather than anything else
25 Name: Anonymous : 2015-06-01 23:56
>>22Yes i like them but they are not star trek for me. i just want another show after voyager, maybe 20 or 30 years later.
26 Name: Anonymous : 2015-06-01 23:58
>>25same.
well i'm off to rewatch the entire franchise now. see you fags in 2 months.
27 Name: Anonymous : 2015-06-02 00:03
ok so ive just been watching TNG. Should I watch a TNG movie, or start with Wrath of k
28 Name: Anonymous : 2015-06-02 00:08
>>25i agree. have like a small connection. Worf's kid or something. Riker's kid. Doesn't matter.
29 Name: Anonymous : 2015-06-02 00:13
I love Romulan ships the best; but for Starfleet ships, I got to go with the Sovereign class from the TNG movies.
My favorite TOS: Spock
TNG: Data
DS9: Garek
VOY: Doctor
ENT: -n/a-

>>27Wrath, TNG series is good but the movies are just bad
31 Name: Anonymous : 2015-06-02 00:29
>>30first contact is good.
everything else is kinda bad.
32 Name: Anonymous : 2015-06-02 00:40
Nebula Class was always my favorite. Has the features I like about the Galaxy, saucer and nacelles, and in a compact set up. Plus, it was usually a science vessel, so automatically badass. (Also in Armada II it could shoot the Gemini ray and fuck shit up.)
