To start how about we talk about our favorite ship class. Personally I like the excelsior class. I like how it was a complete departure from previous designs in the series.

I dont know enough about all the ships to have a favourite :(

All I know is that Kirk and Riker would have had a great time together fucking bitches and fighting alien scum. I could live vicariously through them...

That's a great "what if?" scenario. I'd call it a definite maybe. If the Defiant could dodge the Galaxy's weapons and stay alive long enough to bring its shields down, it could easily pump a few torpedoes into the Galaxy's deflector dish or whatever.

The main hurtle is not having something critical to the sustained evasion blow up.

Probably not inventive but I like the Galaxy class. Also, is this restricted to federation ships? Because I also like the Romulan D'deridex class.

yes, the d-deridex is stunningly beautiful. I also for some reason like the old b'rel class birds of prey the klingons had. totally different mindset - a ship built for pure combat with the minimum crew to achieve that end.

what i never get is how romulans, klingons, cardassians and other powers are serious opponents for federation.
federation has a trillion people, countless worlds over a few thousand lightyears. how can single races be a serious threat against them?

I've watched TNG and am on Voyager now (halfway through season 2). I like every character better on TNG than their counterpart aside from maybe the Doctor. I like him a lot. I am just not invested in like any of these characters.

I love Romulan ships the best; but for Starfleet ships, I got to go with the Sovereign class from the TNG movies.

Nebula Class was always my favorite. Has the features I like about the Galaxy, saucer and nacelles, and in a compact set up. Plus, it was usually a science vessel, so automatically badass. (Also in Armada II it could shoot the Gemini ray and fuck shit up.)
