Hey, /sci/. I just spent the past half hour or so trying to figure this out and just ended up kicking myself after getting it.
Lets see how fast /sci/ can do it

Find values for a and b
f(x) = a*x-3 when x <= 4
f(x) = b*x^2+3 when x > 4
