Post Office delivery - can any Brits help?

Basically can I put down my post office address to pick up a delivery? I'll be at work in the morning so there's no one at home(or neighbours) to pick up that specific delivery.

Help! Has anyone done this?

Well, what I used to do is have the package delivered to my workplace and have an associate sign for it. Is that possible for you?

Not at work, no. The post office is on my way home so much more convenient for me.

If they can't deliver it, they'll just take it back to the local sorting office anyway, and you can pick it up from there.

Exactly, but the local sorting office is quite far away and the post office is near.

You can go on the website and arrange a redelivery from your local sorting office. You can just pick a day when your at home. Saturday, perhaps.

Is it something that can be delivered to the store? Then you can pick it up there.

I've always just had it go to the sorting office and specified a re-delivery date with them.
