My question has to do with overtime.

Well, let's say i worked for 5 days this week. First 3 days were just regular 8 hours. On the fourth day, i worked 12 hours (8 regular, 4 overtime).

That left me at 36. So today, i worked a regular shift. 8 hours.

My question is - do I file 8 regular hours, because they already paid me 4 hours of overtime this week? Or do I file 4 regular, 4 overtime (because after the first 4, it crosses 40 hours).

I get overtime any day over 8, and any week over 40. I just confused because it seems like the system just wants to pay me regular 8 because the extra 4 were already paid yesterday.

Makes sense?

its just the system usually alters my hours... when i submit lets say 9 regular, itll change the last hour into overtime.

Im just thinking... since they only paid me 32 hours of regular, and 4 overtime, that it makes sense that the last day would be 8 hours, see what im getting at?

I mean in the end ill probably just file the 4 n 4 and see if it gets thrown back

The way I understand it (from my last union job) is that if I work two hours of overtime but don't hit 40 hours, it isn't considered overtime. So anything after the 40 is considered overtime, but only the actual hours after 40. So I'm pretty sure its the ones at the end. Not sure if this helps.

it helps a little. but our situation is different. first, mine is not a union gig, and second... even if i only work 9 hours in a week... that last hour would be overtime.

It's anything over 8 hours a day, and/or anything over 40 hours a week.
