So predictions for 2017, and the next 4 years with reasoning
1 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-31 18:42
I would especially like to invite Trump supporters to give us their vision of what Trump's going to bring us, not what they hope but what they truly think will realistically happen and why.
My version is this.
1) There's a huge bubble in stocks right now and it's going to pop in 2017. Asset bubbles always pop, they've happened dozens of times before in various markets and the result is always ugly. I think it'll pop in 2017 because the Fed is going to raise interest rates, or Trump will start a trade war. That's just the trigger, when asset bubbles burst the rush to exit a market causes the market to dump and you get a massive recession as a result.
2) As a result of 1, the US economy will do very badly in the next 4 years, recession starting in 2018. Probably not as bad as 08-09, but worse than most recessions in the past.
3) Trump will likely spark some sort of trade war with China or low level proxy engagement with China, similar to what happened with the Russians in Ukraine and Syria. This will make the US recession worse.
4) Trump will be all over the place, as he has already been since he's nominated his cabinet. By that I mean he's made a ton of promises and reversed course before even taking office. He'll be totally everywhere especially once the criticism comes in left and right, and he's clearly unable to respond to criticism objectively.
5) Trump won't be looking at security briefings, but will be reading negative news about himself all day long and tweeting 7-8 times a day.

Oh come on, no Trump supporter here has a positive prediction of the future?
All they seem to come up with these days on this board is "Libs, you lost" and that's about it. So I take it most Trump supporters are happy the Libs lost but resigned to the fact Trump's a basket case?

I predict a sniper takes out Trump.
Watch SFBE post a stupid link to FBI website...lame.

Sounds like Obama, except for the tweets.

Why is it always back to Obama or Hillary? It's like saying.
My wife is butt ugly, but better than my ex-wife. Kinda admitting you're not in a great situation just a little better than before.

I bet that I get a job as a guard at one of Trump's Death Camps.

Lesson from history. Hitler executed some of the people who supported him when he had power. So you might end up in one of Trump's death camps.
Might be an experimental vault. I think the best one was the one from New Vegas where they had to execute one of their own each year.

I predict libs will compare Trump to Hitler.

Lesson from history.
Trump supporters are typically oblivious of history, which is why they support him. Not their fault though. Our society simply doesn't enable most people to become educated. If it did, the masses would not stand for the direction our leaders are taking us.

Yeah I love how they hate the establishment. Don't trust MSM, yet manipulated by fake news. Sucks to be so dumb they fall for something in any era.
Anyway, just had new years where I'm at. My gf is puking in the toilet, lol. Happy new year!

The most wealthy engineer stock market crashes on purpose.
So that they can sell high and buy cheap in order to turn a huge profit.
The sooner you all come to understand that, the better off you will all be.

I predict that Vladimir Putin will die of a heart attack
and that Julian Assange will die in an accident involving a Pub.
Also that Peter Thiel will die in a tragic fire.

Get in line behind me.
Can't wait to start rounding up those mongrels.

Do you think I would be wise to move my retirement from my 401K to a Roth IRA despite the tax hit?
17 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-31 19:58
It would depend when you're going to retire. Like within the next 5-6 years? Market's generally bounce back but I don't see them being higher than now within the next 5-6 years if they blow up next year.
401K is different from a speculative account.

One of the first things I learned in my economics course last semester was that regardless who was elected President, the U.S. will likely enter a recession within the next four years, and the stocks will likely decline. The stock market prediction is objective, as the P/E ratios are much higher than average, and even though they're lower than the extreme highs they reached in 2000, they're slowly approaching the highs. I have no idea if this will happen in 2017 or not, however.
I'm predicting that the embryonic stem cell ban will return. This seems to always flip flop depending on which party is in the White House; since Obama ended the ban in 09, it's likely Trump will enact it in 2017.
The Chinese real estate bubble will keep increasing in 2017 and will pop within the next few years.
The deficit will increase.
Trump will be more liberal than expected with social issues (excluding racial issues). Regardless, a very conservative SC justice will be appointed and confirmed.

Saving this for future reference. OK?

>>19Yeah go ahead. This is like the 5th thread I've made with the same sort of predictions.
I'm going to be laughing to the bank what stocks tank next year. I've sold everything now, and neutral, I'm guessing stocks are possibly going 20% higher but I'm comfortable not getting the exact top, and selling now instead of getting caught out on the way down.
But I will be selling futures big time if the market crashes next year. The biggest amount of money to be made is the start of a bull or bear market, because you ride the direction for a long time.
21 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-31 21:01
This doesn't really make you better than Trump.
22 Name: Anonymous : 2016-12-31 21:07
>>21Better than Trump in what way? I didn't even know I was competing with him.
I never inherited the type of money Trump did so I will never be as rich as him. 100th as rich and I'll be fine, but I bet in my lifetime in terms of % gain on what I had I'll beat Trump.
I'm not as insecure as him so I'll never need to be in a reality TV show, or be President and need everyone to worship me just to feel comfortable with myself. So I'll never have the best words, nor will I know ISIS better than the generals. Nor will I ever have to use bait and switch on people.
I might never grab as many pussy as he has so yeah I guess you're right, he'll beat me on the number of hot naked women he's walked in on while they were changing.

Good luck. The market could tank, but it's still a crap shoot. I'll stick with the mix, a little heavier on gold.
