I am very surprised. Britain is the most leftist country in Europe.

How do you work that out?

The UK has an overwhelmingly right wing press, has been under Conservative rule for nearly six years, has a monarchy, an unelected House of Lords with an inbuilt Tory majority. Even the 1997-2010 Labour government was right wing or at least centrist by most standards, backed the US in Iraq and remains v close to the USA.

Their press is among the most politically correct in the world, and every Englishman I ever met was a stone liberal.

I don't see what is particularly conservative about them. In fact I don't see much difference at all from previous governments. Same lying suits pushing the pc, leftist agenda.
