Why don't black people apologize for slavery?

Did you know the first person to own a slave in America was a black man? Do you realize it was blacks in Africa who captured other blacks to sell as slaves? (and slavery still exists in Africa) As only 3% of whites owned slaves (while 28% of freed blacks owned slaves), exactly what am I supposed to apologize for? And the Irish were slaves too and could have been owned by a black! Yet there seems to be no big rush to apologize

People truly don't want to recognize that African tribes raided other tribes for the specific goal of selling their captives into slavery

This and it is easer to blame the white man for everything.

All that black people want is an Oscar every year, and the police to stop killing unarmed black people.

Is that too much to ask?

And both of your points are up to the Black people, nobody else.

Don't hold your breath, Especially with one of their own becoming an president who re-enforces their victim mentality.

Okay they can have an oscar.

Black people would probably settle for an Oscar every year, because they don't want to appear uppity, as it's only been a 151 years since the end of slavery.

Stopping the killing of unarmed black people by police, is too much to ask at this time, and that Black Lives Matter at the Oscars is as far as America is willing to go.

The latter is a legit demand, the first is not.

The Academy award, Oscar, is an award for a unique performance in art like the Nobel Prize for physics is one in science.

They got already too many undeserved Oscars solely for political reasons.

Do they want to start boycotting math and science since they're hardly had any recipients in ("STEM"-)Nobel prices, Fields medals etc. pp.?
If the black community want to celebrate their best and themselves by receiving these honours, they have to work hard for it and earn them.

But unlike Asian, Jewish or white people they give (as community and thus a statistical entity) a damn about education and or hard work.

There is a study with students who were confronted with a difficult task and it was not the solution that interested the scientists but how long it took before a stundent gave up.

The Black students were by far the first ones to give up, while the Asian ones tried the hardest.

You sound like a racist that just wants to disparage black people, although you did grant that unarmed black people shouldn't be killed by police, and that I assume you would consider a legitimate concern of Black Lives Matter.

You just have a problem with black people expecting to be recognized for personal achievements, because you don't consider them doing what is necessary to earn recognition.

Don't hold your breath. You'll get no apology from me.

Don't forget apologies from the Italians (Romans) and Germans (Saxons et al) too!

It's about time Scandinavia apologized for the Vikings too.

Blacks should apologize to homo erectus for evolving into white people before they did.

Because the politically correct educational establishment does not teach about black on black slavery whether it was in the U.S. or Africa. Its much easier for them to blame the White Man, when in reality they ought to be thanking the White Man. European Americans didn't invent slavery, but they did invent the abolition of the institution. The first countries in the world to abolish slavery were European nations.

Furthermore, most blacks don't have the intellectual sophistication to feel any guilt for historical injustices they often perpetrated against their own race.

As terrible a thing as slavery was I think making apologies should be reserved for those responsible for an act. Not descendants or people who have a physical characteristic that resembles them. If I do wrong what's the point of someone making an apology for me?
