I was wondering when someone was going to invoke that famous poem. I saw it mentioned on a blog or two but not by any of the GOP candidates. He's right. Let's see who Trump has attacked and demonized so far: Hispanics, journalists, ALL Muslims, and frankly women because they might be "bleeding out of something (wink wink)".. Now he says that BLM protester (I don't like their tactics either but that's not the point) deserved to be physically assaulted even though he didn't touch anyone.

He's personally insulted all of his rivals in the most adolescent ways, calling them weak, babyish, sweaty, ugly, etc. etc. Oddly, he hasn't really gone after Clinton.

His supporters like him because he allows them to vent their ugly, ignorant vitriol to their hearts content. They don't care that he tells monstrous lies and doubles down on them.

So what happens when he decides to start coming after the "47%", like Romney did? Saying anyone relying on disability benefits is a pathetic loser, that soldiers who get captured and held prisoner (like John McCain) are losers.

We'll see what happens then. He'll do it if and when he knows he can get away with it.

While it is a solid analogy, I think he is using the wrong tactic here. The fact of the matter is that much of the GOP base legitimately doesn't care what happens to Muslims or illegal immigrants. His ad should have focused instead on the unconstitutionality of Trump's proposals, since the Constitution is something that the GOP base at least claims to care about.

Kasich knows he's done for, so he wants to do something noble and take Trump down along with him. He may get a VP nod out of it.
