Canada has officially withdrawn fighter jets from Syria
1 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-16 20:39
Is there any other country in the free world that is as big of a pussy as Canada is right now? Serious question. Because I've only heard of every other country heightening their attack against ISIS and here Canada is like "but we'll train them. That's sure to put a stop to it".

Canada is 3.2% Muslim. No nation in the Americas should have such a high percentage of Muslims. Thats embarrassing and speaks to the amount of left wing Muslim sympathizers in Canada.

Like he said.
5 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-16 21:12
What exactly is your point?
6 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-16 21:22
I didn't understand either of your points to be honest. What was yours? We have a high Muslim population that we shouldn't?
7 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-16 21:29
Europe has an excuse for having so many, its close to a lot of Muslim countries. What exactly is Canadas excuse?

We have a history of promoting "multi-culturalism."
What that really means is, you move here, never learn out language or assimilate into our culture, create little "villages" of your own ethnicity, then cost taxpayers more b/c we have to translate things in 117 languages, rather than the 2 official ones.
Sounds like great thing for any refugee..

For having a Muslim population? Iunno. Immigration, people move to Canada. Promise of a better life. How or why does anyone emigrate anywhere?
People emigrate, start families, maybe large families, people marry into the family, they continue to grow. Multiply that by a realistic percentage that reflects the population and boom.
Kind of a silly question, don't you think?
I see his point now.

Justin is also bringing 25k of Syrians to Canada. Oh joy.
11 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-16 22:31
There's no need to have a relatively high population. It's all chance. People move and relocate. It's not an excuse, it's a cold hard fact. Muslims from all over the world, hell, people from countries all over the world emigrate to Europe, Canada, America, etc because they want to and have the resources. I know Muslims who've come from the Middle East, I work with several in my kitchen and knew many from high school and everywhere. You simply know not of what you speak at all.

The point he's making is, why is it a higher percentage than the States, arguably somewhere more financially attractive?
The answer is, we are suckers for a sob story and require far less (hell, ANY) attempt at assimilation than the States.
Big cities are evidence of that fact; thousands of people here for decades who speak NO English Or French...
13 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 00:14
It could be that the perception if Canada is we are more hospitable to people with differences. That could be why people try to get in, but it wouldn't explain why they succeed, Our reputation as private citizens who're suckers for sob stories doesn't matter when applying for status.
I live in Toronto. It ain't New York city but there's a good nearly 3 million people here. Colour me surprised if I ever encounter people who truly can't speak English.
14 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 00:29
I lived and work in Toronto for 30 years, as did my wife.
WE both encountered many who had lived there for 40+ years and could not speak or understand anything more than the most rudimentary words...
If you can't understand or answer "How are you today?" after 40 years in a country, the system has failed.
15 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 00:50
Maybe. It's harder to learn languages when you're older. The closest I've known anyone who moved here who couldn't speak English are the parents of a childhood friend from Portugal, and even they know some now.
Rudimentary words. If they can get by then it's not the same as not knowing the language. I've never known anyone who, after 40 years (even though I'm 30 myself) could not understand rudimentary English. Have you?
16 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 01:09
But they can't get by; that's the whole problem...
"I've never known anyone who, after 40 years (even though I'm 30 myself) could not understand rudimentary English. Have you?"
I just said yes, I have...
17 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 01:20
we are more hospitable to people with differences.
translation: " We'll throw social programs at you that even OUR citizens struggle to qualify for and we won't be bold enough to ask for evidence that you are in need of them or are in fact who you say you are" (Something we should have done when several Rwandans and Bosnians/Sebians/Kosovars wanted for war crimes came to Canada in the mid 90s as 'Refugees' with false papers.)

I live in Toronto too and I can't count how many times a language barrier has prevented me from carrying out an honest conversation with an immigrant. Where abouts in Toronto do you live? Scarborough is infested with immigrants that can't speak a word of English.

Justin is also bringing 25k of Syrians to Canada. Oh joy.
20 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 01:57
What could go wrong?
B/c his old man's plan to make Canada multi-cultural worked out SOOOO well too.
Must be the Trudeau Hubris....
21 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 02:08
Don't live there anymore....
And, when I was a kid there (64-73), Scarborough was almost entirely White and middle class, at least near the Vic Park border with North York. East Scarborough might have been a different story (It certainly is a ghetto NOW)
22 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 02:21
I try to avoid Scarborough like the plague. I did go to University out there though, UofT the Scarborough campus.
I dunno dude. I was born and raised here and I can't think of it ever happening. My social groups and workplaces have never been without diversity either. Luck of the draw I guess, I've never had that problem.
Why am I defending immigrants who may or may not speak English when they get to Canada? I keep looking at the thread title Canada has officially withdrawn fighter jets from Syria and keep forgetting how this tangent came to be. I'm serious, what's the relevance to the side discussion about immigrants coming to Canada and not speaking the language?

Muslims from the Middle East dont make the trek all the way to Canada without being invited in.
And there's where you're going wrong. Arab nations account for a tiny percentage of Muslims. Canada is part of both the Commonwealth and the Francophonie and has ties with India and many African nations, ties which have existed for over a century.
There's no policy on "Muslim immigration". Canada has freedom of religion.
You're also ignoring Canada's history. Our Muslim population is not new and many are several generations away from immigration. Our two largest Muslim groups both supported equal marriage (one directly, one noting they were against gays marrying but had to recognize the legal principle that guaranteed their own rights). We have unity mosques.
You're coming to wrong conclusions because you have a narrow understanding of what 'Muslim' means and of Canada.
FYI, educate yourself about your own country. Muslims there are likewise not necessarily the result of immigration.Learn about Nation of Islam and others.

I do not understand why they have even elected that Fwit, and as for the Syrians, everyone would have known he would do that..

Denmark has also withdrawn its fighter bombers. Apparently there were too many missions where the 'bombs were not delivered', as there were no meaningful targets.
Unless we should adopt Israeli tactics and bomb civilians.
26 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 03:33
Unless we should adopt Israeli tactics and bomb civilians.
That's what Canadian Ted Cruz has suggested.
27 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 04:00
The far right foreign policy spokesman in Denmark is suggesting the same thing, but it was met with universal condemnation acroos the rest of the political spectrum. Now he even has a court case on his head for encouraging war crimes.

There's no strategy over there. It's just funnel in equipment, money and lives into a black hole with no end or exit in sight. Conservatives seem to talk a lot about liberals wanting to solve the world's problems with other people's money, yet it seems like conservatives are content to solve the world's problems with other people's lives.
Not saying you're liberal or conservative, I don't know you, but you tell me where the logic is in fueling a war that seems designed to go on for as long as necessary for private contractors who've never set foot on a war ground to make money.
Oh, not to mention that the ground forces that have been the most effective in fighting ISIS are the Kurds of Northwest Syria, who for some reason the United States has stopped supporting. Funny move for a nation that seems to want the war to be over...

Good.
Why should Canada be bombing Syria? What good does bombing Syria do for Canada? It's a waste of time, money and resources, and it puts Canadians in harm's way.
30 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 05:42
Trudeau's timing of withdrawing jets from Syria and bringing over 25k refugees couldn't be worse.
31 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 06:03
For the withdrawal, against bringing in such large numbers unless it is just women and children. Send the men back to fight for their own country.
32 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 06:28
I agree with withdrawing the jets.
I don't agree with this mass influx of refugee/ISIS plants.
33 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 06:47
Those Dutch/Norwegian countries are some of the worst world when it comes to this kind of stuff, but yeah Canada exhibits some of the same traits. They just don't give a ship about anything other than themselves. I that's the case,, countries like that should not be allowed UN.
34 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 07:23
That's ridiculous. When terrorist groups inflict an attack like what they did on Paris, they expect people to take their frustrations out on Muslims. They expect Muslims to be attacked, Mosques and Muslim iconography burns. It's no cost to the Islamic State as it's not their men but it will galvanize Muslims, as it already has and does.
When countries extend gestures of friendship and trust, and ISIS attacks them, that will show Muslim sympathizers that the attacks were not carried out on their behalf, that terrorist groups attacked a country that reached their hand out in friendship and will turn galvanized Muslims against groups like ISIS. That's what ISIS doesn't want.
35 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 08:13
Indeed, the backlash against Syrians in general really does not make any sense, except within the twisted world of internal GOP positioning. Especially now there are indications that the mastermind behind the attacks in Paris is Moroccan. A country the United States traditionally has good relations with.
36 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 09:24
Canada is simply getting back to what we once were, minding our own business, before we elected a war mongering right winger.
37 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 10:55
It must be so nice living in blissful ignorance like that. How long do you think Canada will be able to mind its own business before ISIS pulls off an attack on our soil? Us being apathetic isn't going to solve the fucking problem.
38 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 11:30
If the US minded it's own business they would have to worry so much about terrorism. Although of course the politicians want Americans terrorized.
39 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 12:34
Hell yeah I was in Toronto for work and man there were muslims everywhere it would be simple for Canada to get attacked since they are already there. These weren't friendly guys either they had pissed off faces staring at everyone.
40 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 13:43
Canada is the France of the Americas.
Literally.
You got what you voted for. So fuck y'all. I hate the name Canada and Canadian anyway. Maybe the Muslims can come up with a better name for you idiots.
41 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 15:21
Is there any other country in the free world that is as big of a pussy as Canada is right now?
Nope. Canada is pussyland. When it hits the fan up there, and it will, they will come running to their protector to the south and expect the USA to do the heavy lifting as usual.
42 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 16:59
Like how we took over the Afganistan mission for the Yanks after they pulled out?
43 Name: Anonymous : 2015-11-17 18:39
This was planned to happen before Paris.
