If either of these phrases offends you, you need to get a life.

The irony here is the main reason this has even been discussed is because of the belief a small but vocal group have that mentioning Christmas may be offensive, regardless of reality that the students banking on Christmas shoppers spending money at their store

Is there anything a certain group of people aren't offended by these days? I guess this is what happens when a society gets too bored and comfortable with its freedoms.

Interesting observation.

Oh, and reported for...something!

"Colored person" versus "person of color" gets you tenure at a university.

I find Happy Holidays rolls off the tongue easier.

Agreed.

Correct.

I find your post offensive

Satan plays a big part in the jesus thing, and from what I've been told, jesus had something to do with christmas.

So, shouldnt satan be getting some credit?

Or is it 'begat'? Begat some credit?

Begat is more sired/fathered

Makes sense

"Be getting" is it

I say "Merry Happy." It makes people smile and is as inoffensive as humanly possible. There is no such thing as a negative response to "Merry Happy." It's 100% positive, and it also addresses sanctimonious fυсkheads who believe there's a "war on Christmas" because of what Starbucks doesnt write on their cups.

For the sake of multicultural inclusion, straight rights, states' rights and nurturing a non-competitive harmonious brotherhood of (wo)mankind, the proper response to "Merry Christmas" is a jolly; "fυсk you!"

Oh no, they kill each other over cultural shit like this in third world lands. Muslim countries especially.

So far nobody has been killed over saying "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas" in the US, but Ill admit that starting to want to see that happen.

Neither phrase offends me.. I had a professor once that said either happy holidays, or merry christmas, to students as they left the class after the final. He correctly assessed I was a liberal and I got the holidays one. But I found it odd how he intertwined the two. It's funny how trying not to be offensive can be offensive, and then what do you do. I love Christmas, I like the decorations the food the presents etc.

I don't even understand how silly stuff like this gets into political debates.

People have freedom of speech. You can say one, or the other, or even both, or even still neither one.

What does this have to do with the government?
