Are hunger strikes morally justified?

If the hunger strikers are recruited exclusively from the morbidly obese? Should they get credit for trying to make the world a better place by striking while also dropping all that excessive weight? And would governments be less willing to change policy in response to fat folk hunger strikes?

I guess it makes about as much sense as dumping a bucket of ice water over your head for a cause.

One could argue there is an element of true SACRIFICE missing.

On the other hand, whatever gets attention . . .

Maybe, but they seem kind of futile to me. If you refuse to eat, who are you hurting?

I live in Norway, if some company pays their undelings less than our minimum wage, they put up with it for 6+ months (the periode when your position is more permanent) then go to the media, and the company bosses will get a public reaming.
