I don't remember seeing her wear one in Carry on Camping while she was exercising.

She was playing a character not herself.

Harsh but fair play. I better get my self one. I can't have the legend Barb on my case.

It would be good if people who choose to not wear a poppy could just 'sod off', but that isn't really the case.
Mind that news presenter was hauled over the coals for not wearing on on air last year?
That kind of thing is bonkers.

I give to charity, including those for vets, but I don't feel the need to wear any bit of tat attached to me to represent this. You can remember who you want without a piece of plastic attached to your person just so that patriotic Bob next door is aware that you are.

The poppy police can fúck off.

Millions sent on false pretenses and bull-shìt to be slaughtered in mud and the sum total of influence it has on modern society isn't that people are less gullible about foreign and military policy but pious fúkwits pretending to honour the waste of their lives by telling you exactly how to be vain in commemorating it and what you can't not wear for an unspecified period of time every autumn.

Load of tosh for posers. Not the wearing of it, but the bullshît holier-than-thou attitude adopted by some folk.

I agree with anon. I DO buy a freakin' poppy every year, but still I don't want to be ordered around and told by an aging Cockney that I have to. Barbara freakin' Windsor can fuck off, boring bitch.

The thing that galls me is that people assume and try to interpret it as a callous act of ignorance or some misguided political statement.

Rule of thumb, I find, is the more someone thinks it's important to wear a poppy, the less they actually understand about the waste of that war and others.

It's just about the life's lost. Well for me and many. For others and many they may not even have a clue about ww1
