"Anti-product placement"

You know, when they just twist the name around (like McDonald's becomes "McDooner's" or something like that) and create an obvious equivalent for a real product?

I find this a lot more annoying and noticeable than actual product placement. What do you think?

You mean like in "Coming To America" with McDonald's becoming McDowell's? Well that was kind of a joke in that film.

Well, that was a joke, and they reference McDonald's wanting to sue him or something. I'm talking more like Wii being "Zii" in The Simpsons. I mean, why not just call it Wii? Everybody knows what it is anyway.

Family Guy actually did a pretty funny bit about that.

Oh yeah, I've seen that. I remember agreeing with the point it made.
