SFBE isn't just an immature idiot, he's also a racist.
1 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 22:29
Check out all his self-justifying B.S. in this thread:
https://dis.4ct.org/newpol/read/1442787680I don't have a big problem with the guy, but he has attacked me for my opinions enough times for me to call him out when he's an obvious bigot with a huge double-standard that denies the concept of "art" to black people.

Someone immature?
Someone racist?
Someone who is bugging someone else?
Here on /newpol/?
I'M SHOCKED! SHOCKED, I SAY!! [LAUGH]

I notice this chap and his walls of text from time to time. Curious fellow, rather curious.
He does seem quite politically conservative and be obviously loves to argue. I half think that this SFBE fellow may be the alternate account of RedCream don't you?
4 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 22:37
There will be no slanderous badmouthing of RedCream, son.
5 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 22:39
stfu redcream
6 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 22:41
You suck dick.
7 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 22:44
>>3Why do you say that?
Maybe he prefers animals to humans, like Bridget Bardot.
8 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 22:46
He'd make a great politician.
9 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 22:48
Politicians need practical, real-life knowledge on how to manipulate real-life people and situations.
Do you believe SFBE possesses that talent?
10 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 22:50
Hold on.
He's basically making the point that not every piece of music should be called a "song". As an aside, he's mentioned that he doesn't care for "rap music" as a genre.
Me neither.
I prefer this kind of thing:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03juO5oS2gg (which is not a song, by the way).
Judge me, too?

>>10That's a different thread idiot.
12 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 22:58
>>10There is a difference between simply admitting a musical genre is not your cup of tea, and being a snobby prick who decries the entire genre as being talent-free, dismissing all of its fans as idiots and engaging in pages long debates about a musical genre he barely understands.
SFBE spends a lot of time deriding rap music, but I doubt he's ever bothered to explore the genre and understand why some of its more notable artists (in this case,
N.W.A) are celebrated by their non-rap peers.
13 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:02
>>12That may or may not be true, but we were specifically invited to.
>>1Which doesn't seem to contain any evidence to support the suggestion that he's a racist.
14 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:04
I was never following the OP's accusations that he was racist; I was airing out my personal issues with the guy's condescending attitude.
15 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:07
he's an obvious bigot with a huge double-standard that denies the concept of "art" to black people.
Are you making this accusation because the poster in question does not like rap?
16 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:09
I agree.
17 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:11
I thought this was gonna be about SFBE in Mystery Men.
18 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:14
Aside from his snobby ignorant posts in that rap thread, he's also made Islamophobic comments in the past.
I do agree that he's an idiot who likes to endlessly argue.
19 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:17
>>18What did he say that was islamophobic?
20 Name: RedCream : 2015-09-20 23:20
Okay I can't stand rap, and if it is "art" it is clearly inferior to actual music.
Does this make me racist?
21 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:22
No it doesn't make you racist, but it is actual music and it takes skill to perform.
22 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:24
>>21So does basketball . . .
23 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:26
>>22Yes. Both of them do.
Just like basketball's a sport, rap is a form of music.
24 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:28
rap is a form of music.
Who ever said otherwise ?
25 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:30
>>24Right. I find it to be an inferior form.
I am comfortable with making artistic judgments.
Is there even a concept of melody in rap?
It's just thud-thud-thud,
26 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:32
And I can just dismiss all rock as being "screaming-guitars-drum solos-long coda".
Is there even a concept of melody in rap?
Yes.

27 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:34
It's more like juggling.
You can see that it obviously takes a certain amount of skill to do it, but you wonder why anybody wants to.
28 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:36
but you wonder why anybody wants to.
Because it's a creative way of expressing your life story and emotions through rhythmic vocalizations. Because you get to demonstrate your vocabulary and lyrical talents. And finally, because it's fun!
29 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:38
>>27Juggling? I thought it was just a load of balls.
30 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:40
No it doesn't make you racist, but it is actual music
Well yes, but the argument is not if rap is actual music or not.
The argument is if they are song (music with singing in them). He would say the same thing about a instrumental Mozart music piece: It is not a song, without never saying that it is not actual music.
31 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:42
Man up.
32 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:44
Oh, joy, another call-out thread.
33 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:46
You're not really a "name" here unless you've been called out at least five times - rather like being an Ace in air combat. I believe I'm working on my double-acehood now...
34 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:48
The honor is somewhat overrated.
35 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:50
Is it from an argument that the word song refer to music piece with singing at that a lot of rap song does not have singing in them because it is too close to regular speech ?
36 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:52
And many rappers cannot even sing.
37 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:54
And many singers can't play instruments or read musical notes. A lot of instrumentalists can't sing either. Should we dismiss all of their contributions to music?
There are many rappers who sing (Bone Thugs N' Harmony, Nate Dogg, Lauryn Hill, Outkast, etc.) and some who even play instruments (Outkast, The Roots, Cold 187 from above the Law), but even if they don't, I feel it's unfair to dismiss their talents. Rapping does require musical ability as it requires the rapper to time their breaths and deliver their raps in a rhythmic fashion to complement a musical beat while telling a story.
38 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:56
Hey, I was answering a specific observation that rapping is very close to actual speech.
it requires the rapper to time their breaths and deliver their raps in a rhythmic fashion to complement a musical beat while telling a story.
Really that sounds all very primitive and tribal, but i guess that is what the fans of rap want to hear.
For me that gets boring real fast.
39 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-20 23:58
I doubt you've even explored the genre or even heard music by its most celebrated artists.
Really that sounds all very primitive and tribal, but i guess that is what the fans of rap want to hear.
"Primitive and tribal", huh? Wow. The ignorance of some of you posters just astounds me.
What about the rapper taking on the role of a character, building a narrative and taking the listener on a journey? The way it inspires to evolve from having nothing? The clever word rhymes, metaphors and melody that rappers use in their rapping? The energy to a lot of the music? And the way it mashes together a variety of other genres of music (R&B, rock and pop), to complement a rapper's technique?
I'd say there's more to rap than you give credit for.
40 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-21 00:10
Not liking rap doesn't make you a racist, nor does a discussion of the semantics of the word "song." I like rap a little more than he does (still not at all a fan) but I think he has a fair (but not very interesting) point about the use of the word "song." Also, I think he's generally a good poster, with unusually good critical thinking and debating skills.
41 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-21 00:15
Definitely has good debating skills. Critical thinking skills are pretty sharp as well. Where Spleen is lacking is real-life, practical sense and situational awareness. In another thread long-ago, Spleen was genuinely flabbergasted at the suggestion that a major corporation perhaps would seek to manipulate its consumers or engage in political corruption. He kept repeating things like "Why would they do that? Wouldn't they be happy enough with money legally earned? They could get sued for that, couldn't they?"
42 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-21 00:21
I missed that, sounds like a very odd thing to post indeed.
43 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-21 00:27
You missed it because I didn't say it.
I think this guy is referring to a thread about Her (so one of the key points here is that I was talking about a fictional, not a real-world situation), and if you find the original, you'll find his description isn't quite accurate - unintentionally, I'm sure. I don't think the exchange is really worth reading, from memory: basically we spent most of it misunderstanding one another, me him as much as him me.
PS: I should add, thanks for your comments above.
44 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-21 00:33
"he's an obvious bigot with a huge double-standard that denies the concept of "art" to black people"
He doesn't like rap (and he doesn't even deny that it is music).
Do you think that rap is the only art produced by black people? Disliking rap is denying all black art?
45 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-21 00:42
He's certainly dense, but didn't say anything racist.
46 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-21 00:52
This has got to be one of the most successful call-out threads ever. Forty-five replies already.
This SFBE cat must not be werry well liked, eh?
47 Name: Anonymous : 2015-09-21 01:13
More like SFBE dog, since he loves them so much
48 Name: SuperFratBoyExtreme : 2015-09-21 01:33
There's not a hint of racism in anything I've said in that thread, nor the slightest reason for you to infer any. I've made this point in response to your charge of racism on the thread linked to.
Also, I don't recall ever having attacked you for your opinions. So far as I know I've attacked your opinions; I apologise if I've ever done the other thing. Evidently it's pushed you towards making crazy, unsupported accusations.
If you're honest, then within 24 hours (ample time to calm down) you'll apologise for your slander (or is it libel?) here.

I like Sfbe, he’s strongly opinionated and doesn’t back down. I don’t think he wrote anything offensive.
