Hello! I wanted to ask you folks a few things about homeless people, since you all were discussing them yesterday.

I've never done any formal research about homeless men but I do have (not to brag) probably an above-average knowledge of the homeless from personal experience.

MY travels in life have brought me into contact with many of the "seedy underbelly of society" over the years, as well as I had court-ordered community service for a year in 2007-08 which brought me into daily contact with underprivileged people in South Florida.

Except for the mentally ill, almost all white people that are homeless are homeless by choice. (I never really knew any black homeless). Homeless men like that attitude of camaraderie and living a "pre modern, pre state" lifestyle. They see themselves as modern day Germanic or Viking tribesmen, shunning the rules of the modern world.

Another way I've gotten to know homeless people is through chess (which I've played all my life.) Homeless people pwn at games of skill.

I'm not saying I'm 100% right, just saying that's my anecdotal experience with the homeless. By the way, I get along with homeless people very well.

I heard half of them are Vietnam vets but I don't have any study to prove it's true.
