Atheists believe based on evidence and fact.

For example if I had a ball, and dropped it, then we could all be pretty confident that it would fall downwards based on what we understand about gravity and mass. If it happened to fall upwards, and it happened consistently under certain conditions, then I could rewrite how I understand the universe to accommodate for that.

The problem most people have with God is that there is no reason to believe that he exists or even to arouse that suspicion except the Bible. The Bible is a book, that was written by people. People can lie or be deluded or their words can be written down incorrectly for a million reasons. If I were to go outside and the stars were to rearrange themselves to spell "I am here." Or something similar then that would be comparable to the ball falling upwards, and I would be able to rewrite how I view the universe, and the existence of God.

Christians, instead of trying to change their story every time a scientific breakthrough happens, picking and choosing what parts they believe and which parts they don't, should start to question the Bible as a source. 700 years ago, people took the Bible's word as absolute truth. They thought that Adam and Eve really existed. We know now and can prove that this didn't happen, and this is even popular with Christians. Did that part of the Bible simply become less true? Or was it never true to begin with?

There is plenty of evidence for God, spirits, and in fact MANY other paranormal phenomena and entities. Being that it IS paranormal, however, it is not always reproducible even in similar conditions, and even the stuff that IS will often be ignored by Atheists.

Yes, there ALSO is plenty of proof of the Big Bang. You can't observe it, however, only a series of mathematical models displaying what is quite likely to have happened. However, I've never once seen a Big Bang happen myself, yet I've had numerous paranormal experiences, a few of which psychic and confirmed by third parties.

The fact is: God, ghosts, spirits, and what-have-you all have a tremendous amount of experiential evidence, whereas things like the Big Bang have theoretical models depicting a likely event some time that cannot be observed.

In other words, there are three types of evidence:
1) Repeatable, pseudo-objective evidence (usually only near identical results occur on macroscopic levels)
EX: Things that occur in everyday life
2) Experiential evidence (Sometimes repeatable, but not always, events are a fundamental function of Quantum/Consciousness effects, and the result is that they may or may not be regularly demonstrable)
EX: Irregular/paranormal events, which occur to SOME and/or only SOMEtimes
3) Demonstrable Theories (Things that follow a logical course of deduction, due to an amount of known information, without actually demonstrating the event itself)
EX: What most of modern explanatory Science is based off of

The burden of proof is on people who claim he exists. Nothing exists unless it is proven that it does. That doesn't mean a god can't exist. It just means we can't assume one exists without evidence.
