So Ireland's holding an election to legalise same sex marriage. Why the fuck are we even having an election for this is beyond me. What are your opinions on same sex marriage /newpol/?

the word marriage comes from "mari" meaning "woman". two men can't have marriage.

1) Simple question, why marrying a family member is seen as immoral but having same sex marriage? You can use every reason to justify same sex marriage on the same plan as incestual relationships.

I think it literally just has to do with the word marriage. Marriage is defined by some as between a man and a woman. I don't think people care if they get in a union where they get all the same rights, they just don't want the name marriage.
