American here, trying to get a European passport.
So far, I've been trying to use my Greek heritage to claim Greek citizenship. Since my grandfather was a Greek citizen, I am automatically entitled to claim citizenship. I was told this would be an easy process, but it's been a year and a half of paperwork, and I'm getting nowhere. There's always another fucking form to fill out or document to get stamped. The Greek government is deserves it's reputation.
My mom's side of the family is 100% Swedish. It was her grandparents who emigrated, but the family history is well documented. Is it possible to claim citizenship through heritage in Sweden?
If so, I'm not looking to have the entire process spoon-fed to me, I'm just curious to see if anybody can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.
