Hey guys, I'm trying to translate the following sentences and I'm having a hard time. Arabic ain't easy!

يجب عدم الاستعجال في التوقعات، لكن ليس أصعب من محاربة الوقت بالوقت خصوصاً في ظل تفاقم الأزمة الاقتصادية وتعمّقها. المقاطعة مستمرة. انهيار سعر النفط مستمر الى درجة احتمال وصوله إلى ستين دولاراً للبرميل.

What I figured out so far is: "You must not haste in expectations, but..." (the rest is quite obvious).

The لكن here just seems weird and I can't figure out a logical meaning to this sentence....

Any explanation of my fellow Arabic speaking friends would be much appreciated.

Arabic being my first tongue. I'd say that the لكن is somehow wrong. The clause before and after it are not really linked that way. It'd would make sense if some alterations were made, but as it is right now I don't believe it has been written by a fluent Arabic speaker. Unless there's something before يجب عدم الاستعجال في التوقعات. If there is, it might make sense.

Bottom line:
They're trying to say that not making haste in expectations is easier than fighting time with time under the economic crisis situation. But yes, no Arab would put it that way.

I am Arabic and that sentence makes no sense. It's "But it isn't harder than fighting fighting time with time, especially in..." The rest I can't really translate. Why do you need to translate it?

Not all of it makes sense to me in arabic, not the words, but some phrases. But here is the translation. I hope you can make more sense of it with better context.
