There's a very detailed terror threat posted on 8chan's /islamicstate/ board, promising an attack on a synagogue in Australia.

The 8chan post is extremely detailed and explicit, specifying that an SKS rifle will be used and even including a picture of said rifle along with a video of it being fired. The OP of the thread has also posted several updates in the thread, claiming that the "mujahid" who will carry out the attack also intends to bring his friend along, who will supposedly use a knife.

Since the life of an Australian has no more value than the life of a flea or a tick, I'm not terribly concerned about this. Still, it's MUCH more explicit and specific than the usual "hurka durka we will kill the infidels" bullshít. It even includes a video clip of a jihadist firing his rifle in preparation for the attack.

If this attack actually does happen, then I have absolutely no doubt that Ausfailia will use it as an excuse to implement extreme new Internet filters that will block access to 8chan, and I also have absolutely no doubt that Australians will cheer the new Internet filters and thank their government for "keeping us safe from online extremism" (or, as the average Aussie would put it, "BANNIN' DIS SICK FILF").

The news then made it's way to /lounge/ (where he used to troll and now professes to hate) and I used google to find his other user names and online accounts. If the press knew about this place they'd have a field day interviewing us all.

At the end of the clip, a reporter states that the FBI had been staking out the home since August 20, and apparently never saw him come out of the house until they arrested him yesterday, September 10.

That pic of him coupled with the fact he rarely left the basement makes me think metropolis's celibacy may not have been as voluntary as he claimed. Perhaps during his 20 years in prison he may finally lose his virginity. Ouch!!!

Yup. He had several dozen fake names, and he posted here mostly in 2008-9 I think on world4ch. He used to deliberately get the weekly "What Movies Did You See Last Week" thread deleted "for the lulz" (interestingly, behavior that has since been copied by a certain troll on the /tele/), post spoilers, and just generally try to piss off everybody. Probably the most obnoxious troll we had, at least during that period. If I remember correctly he claimed he was Canadian at that time but I wouldn't swear to it.

Some interesting things: Metropolis claimed credit for a May attack on a Garland, Texas comic convention in which two "jihadists" were shot by police.

One of Metropolis's email addresses is "[email protected]". If you know anything about Metropolis, you may find that interesting. Do with that what you will. Personally I wouldn't suggest messing with it since I'm sure it's under heavy surveillance.

Paragraph 41, describing FBI surveillance of the residence, is also quite interesting, esp. subsection (c).

Sad and depressing, this whole thing. I hope people involved wisen up and clean their act (and are given the chance to do so).

Yeah it's sad because 1) he was obviously screwing around, yet 2) He expliticly knew what he was doing was wrong*, and 3) he was using his own home IP directly to post his allegedly criminal statements and encouragement.

A lesson for all the kids: If you are doing questionable things on the internet, do not use your own IP. Don't use your own IP to either 1) directly post anything, or 2) to register the fake email accounts associated with other accounts. That's how Metropolis got busted. Also, don't admit anything if you get arrested. In America, you have the right to remain silent. Use it. Metropolis allegedly admitted the whole thing to the FBI when his house got raided. How can he possibly get out of it now?

*You can see his conciousness of guilt in the affidavit where Metropolis alledgedly said "you're not going to turn me into the feds, are you?" (paraphrasing)

From the report it look like they even used Twitter to talk between them in the open, maybe they wanted to get caught in some ways.
