Anonymous actor confessing on Reddit that they hate being famous
The second link is to recent speculation as to who he/she might be. Some posters are saying that it was Jennifer Lawrence. Of course it might not really be a famous actor at all, but it very well could be. Celebrities do post on Reddit.

That was hard to read. Sad.

Yeah. And one can say it's the case for a lot of famous celebrities

I feel for whoever it is, I couldn't handle the constant scrutiny. My life isn't exactly thrilling but I guard my privacy like a rabid dog.

I am pretty sure it's really not uncommon hating fame.
Dream job
Pro golfer,
Do what you want, no one cares or will hassle you to much (unless you are tiger of course).

Or session musician. You get to play on pop hits and nobody will have any idea who you are.

If this actor/actress just took their money and walked away, he/she wouldn't be very famous for much longer and could life a nice comfortable life.
Sounds like the person hates the fame, but is also addicted to it and can't give it up.

I'm not sure that's really a fair criticism. Actors are artists. They like to work. They got into it in the first place as an expressive outlet. It's probably not so much about being addicted to the fame, but rather simply that they like making art through acting. It's just unfortunate that "making it" comes at such a huge price.

You can act pretty much act all your life in theater without getting to a unconfortable amount of fame.
Getting to the big screen is probably always in part for bigger money and for some stardom lifestyle and recognition.

The two are completely different. Some want to be theater actors, some want to be screen actors.
It would be like saying directors could just become stage directors and they'd be just as happy. Well no a movie is very different from a stage.

This is correct. We should resist the idea that the absolute invasion of your private life is just an automatic part of working in Hollywood. It's kind of like how people casually consider prison rape just another part of the punishment of criminals. No, these ideas should be rejected. Artists should be allowed to practice their art without having their lives destroyed because the media and the general population feels entitled to access.

Probably somebody with a stalker problem.

>>1It was posted two years ago. Maybe it was Philip Seymour Hoffman.. or Robin Williams, given what they said. Not so likely though as Philly wasn't the kind of famous which apparently warrants having your right to not be harassed and abused waivered, and Robin only was a long time ago.. I reckon he still got stalked though yknow because even after his career died for some reason I'd sometimes still see a photo of him with some shallow and mundane as flip tag line like "Robin Williams walking somewhere wearing jeans, trainers and a cap" in some publication every now and again. I'm on about magazines other people were reading as I'd never buy one of them things, or when you get all these online articles.
I tell you what it's absolutely disgusting that the world thinks that just because someone has a skill, talent or asset that millions around the world are willing to pay to see, thus making that person famous, that that means that the famous person no longer has the right to not be harassed. Apparently it's acceptable what paparazzi do? Why do they even do it? You realise the people who support the paps by buying the publications are usually the famous people 'fans'.. Yeah great fans contributing to the depression of your idol, and the others are just people shallow enough to have a particular interest in seeing a movie star without makeup on or with trainers and a baseball cap on.. even if they barely know who that person is. Now, every other person, who isn't famous, they are protected from stalking and harassment and abuse.. but apparently if you're famous it's okay? It's just accepted, yknow these people are super rich and "fortunate" when actually the eyes of the world are on them always.. and they're job isn't so fun and easy because the most ..famous ones are at work all the time. Always. Only not at work when at home which may encourage them to become a hermit, and they probably get to the point when all they want to do is be at home or be on set, because that's the only two places that they are really protected from paparazzi. What good is all that money if you just sit in a mansion like Kind Midas, alone. When they go for a coffe they are at work, when they go out to get drunk and blow off steam and chillax they are at work, see what happened with Shia the eyes of the world saw him drunkenly stumbling into a play or whatever and then people were stating he's an idiot, so judgemental of him when actually these same people are mega hypocrites because these people most of them also go out and get drunk. Yknow for the people who aren't famous the stupidest thing you did while drunk makes a good story, but for those who are famous it can ruin their career or make millions around the world decide they are an idiot. They can't got for a weekend break without being at work. This is why those that are lucky enough to afford a private island would want a private island.
And the way young stars are exploited for money. Drew Barrymore snorting coke at 14 or something ridiculous like that. River Phoenix. Dead. Drugs. Corey Haim. Dead. Drugs. Brad Renfro. Dead. Drugs. Amy Winehouse. Dead. Drugs. If Drew died from coke at 14, what would the press do... ... ... they'd sell it... people of the world are becoming excited about the event of a young adult dying untimely who was a cute child star just ten years before! It's horrible.. I mean it's pretty much evil. The people who support this, and more so the people who perpetuate it (press) are committing or contributing to an act of evil and yet they are too selfish, self involved to even be aware of it. Lindsay Lohan was a cute innocent little girl in Parent Trap right.. What happened? The eyes of the world watched her grow up and basically gave her a mauling for doing what most teens do like experimenting with alcohol or drugs, and then she got worse and apparently it's her fault but it's not her fault really is it. It's the fault of the press and her supposed fans.. same with Justin Bieber even. Don't hate him, feel sorry for him please I know he is irritating on account of being held in higher esteem than he is but that is the problem that has lead to his self destruction and also not his fault. It's the people who held him in too high esteem and essentially destroyed him. He's just a scared, naive, misguided young man.. barely more than a child. And if he dies.. people will say horrible things like that he deserved it or they're glad he's dead. He's pretty much a child!
It's the press situation that needs something doing about it. It got out of control years ago and it had gotten so worse that it drags the most famous into hell and we all just allow it, accept it or hech even contribute to it. It needs to stop.. These are real people. I just don't understand why everyone allows it. Why it's okay for people to be photographed whenever they leave their house wherever they are. They are being stalked and harassed. It's not an opinion it's a fact.
Absolutely horrible.

>>15Pretty sure Williams when he was alive was one of the few actors who would be recognised everywhere. The post seems to fit him, he has the kind of fame that just can't go away even if he decides to quit acting.

It sounds like a young female. They talk about wanting to settle down and have kids, etc.
Anyway, interesting and sobering read.

>>16Robin Williams killed himself because he was paying alimony to three ex wives. He was cash poor and had to keep doing crappy movies until the day he died.

It'd be funny if Daniel Radcliffe was the mystery author.

I don't know if I buy it. It just seems fake to me, and whoever wrote it doesn't use proper punctuation like 'cant'.
21 Name: Anonymous : 2015-07-17 16:31
I think it's fake. That last line is completely phony, implying that this person is going to make movie after movie after movie even though it's such "hell". If it were real, the person could STOP making movies, and his or her fame would fade. And every real actor knows that you're not guaranteed future jobs.
22 Name: Anonymous : 2015-07-17 16:34
Chance are big that it is completely phony, what sounded fake to me was that part:
Some of these celebrities don't deserve their fame.
At first it was the word celebrities use by one to talk about co-workers that seem more of a word than a celeb gossip fan would use, but it would be something a bit strange for someone that hate and not value fame at all now to talk about celebrities not deserving it like that.

It can't be Jennifer Lawrence. She definitely has a private life outside of movies and real friends. And it doesn't seem to fit her personality.
The whole rambling is stupid anyway. If that's how that person is feeling, then why don't they just change their life, and stop acting if they have to ? It's not like a famous actor would have any problem finding another job.

I liked the sociologist post and the allusions of the couch. I don't think it's Jlaw though, she'd make reference or give a clue that she recently won an Oscar.
