Yeah, I think the Wii U is about an hour past failing. That thing was so cost-prohibitive to make, that they couldn't even really drop the price on it. And it was in no ways worth it.

The wii u has been a fantastic system and I have under played most of my games for it. I never really wanted more games because I never felt done with what I had. At least 5 I could come back to a lot.

Ehhh, I'm not surprised. I have and like the system but it's definitely a secondary device. Like, you'll need a PS4, Xbox One or PC to compliment it. Otherwise, are you satisfied just playing Nintendo games? (some people are, I'm not)
Looking forward to the Switch to play 'Legend of Zelda'!! ... and then probably forgetting about it until 'Super Mario Odyssey' arrives.

They don't want it to fail, it's already failed. Now they wanna cut their losses and focus on the switch. which in spite of the problems I have with the switch is the smart business move. Nintendo should run as fast as they can away from the failed venture that was the WiiU.

What kind of company abandons their console? If they did this to the Wii U, why should we think they won't pull the plug on the Switch?

The Wii U came out 5 years ago and it was financial failure. Of course they're abandoning it now that they're about to release a new console. It doesn't have a fanbase, and continuing to manufacture it and the Switch at the same time would just result in bleeding money.

The problem is that the Wii U was such a miserable disgrace to Nintendo and a bombastic flop that they had absolutely no other choice then just to choose the less of the 2 evils.
The Wii U has already been doomed since a long time.
