Miyamoto came up with the idea of hitting a flying block with your head to make a mushroom a come out that would make you bigger if you touched it.

Miyamoto. If only because his career has featured a much wider variety of games. Kojima has done a few other things but really he's known for Metal Gear, and that's pretty much it.

Hideo Kojima is a legend but let's be honest here: he's basically only known for Metal Gear Solid. The MGS games are masterpieces despite of his regular pretentiousness.

Shigeru Miyamoto is the most influential person ever from the videogames industry.

Miyamoto has not only made far more game franchises, he has created multiple -genres-.

This thread more or less proves that Shigeru Miyamoto is like the Steven Spielberg of video gaming. Other people may have made some better movies than he has, but nobody's made nearly as many great movies in so many different genres.

There are no better movie directors than Steven Spielberg. No other movie director makes better movies than Steven Spielberg.

And there are no better creators than Shigeru Miyamoto. His games are the best ever.

What everyone else has said, Miyamoto by a long shot. It's like comparing Spielberg to Nolan. One is no doubt extremely talented and has made some great projects, but the other has so many influential classics under his belt it's kinda staggering.
