It's coming out soon, at the end of this month, and I'm really in the mood for a new quality horror game. I've not played a Resi game since #4 and apparently they haven't been particularly good since then, but this new one looks like it could deliver, and then some, unless my eyes are deceived by some spell.

It's probably going to feature puzzles with no solution, like the demo.

It's gonna be the next DOOM 3 in the sense that it's gonna be a great game but fans will dismiss it because it's different and they don't like change.

I don't think Doom 3 is disliked just for being different. It was mostly disliked for being boring, and having an overabundance of moments that felt very scripted. It was technically great but it lacked the high quality level design that John Romero brought to the series. It also had little to no sense of humor, which I do think hampered my enjoyment of it. And I say all of that as someone who was a fan of Doom 3 when it came out but found it extremely lacking and underwhelming when I went back and played it after Doom 4 came out last year.

It's not Resident Evil 1, so it sucks!

I can understand that. But most people I ask why they don't like it just tell me 'They turned into a straight horror game and it's more like Aliens than DOOM!' Personally I felt the game was too nail biting to be 'boring' and for being the first DOOM game to make the full transition into 3D, I think they did more than a good enough job. But if you don't like it, then agree to disagree I suppose.

I think the VR will bring a whole new aspect to it as well.

have you tried the evil within? It was pretty good and underrated in my opinion. If you liked Resident Evil 4 you would probably like that one.

Resident Evil 7 won't deliver, just like 3,4,5,6.
