Is the XBox One controller rechargeable?

I see people saying that the XBox One controller is not rechargeable and goes only with standard batteries. Is this true, or there is still the optional rechargeable battery?

It's not rechargeable and Microsoft doesn't allow you to change the battery that comes with it. You have to buy a new controller every time the battery runs out.
I've gone through 245 controllers so far.

It uses two AA batteries. I bought a charging dock (as I do with every modern console) that included two rechargeable battery packs. Problem solved.

It's solar powered. You have to leave it out in the sun to charge it.

They run on tax dollars just like alternative energy. The more money you give to the government, the longer they stay charged.

Nobody knows! Since just about every game for Xbox One gets cancelled anyway, it's not like anyone has even spent enough time playing to go through a full charge.
