What was your first game of 2017?

What was the first game you played in the new year? Did you start up something brand new? Played an old favorite? Just continued playing whatever your currently hooked on?
For me I picked up Rise of the Tomb Raider during the Xbox weekly deals. Pretty happy with the purchase.

Virginia. I think you have to be high for it to make sense. Not bad, just ... odd.

Nah you just have to think, it has a Lynchian inspiration
My biggest problem is that it could be an animated movie instead cause it was super linear and there was barely any control over my character since the game kept cutting between set pieces

Lynchian inspiration
That just made it worse.

'Hitman', got it on the January sale. Still only on the Paris level and didn't like it at first due to the in-your-face opportunity system, but thankfully I've disabled the feature which makes the game much more naturally enjoyable.

I've been flirting with the idea of picking this up now that you can get the entire first season, but I was going to wait for it to drop a little more in price. Should I wait or is a must buy?

If you like the Hitman games then I'd say that this is pretty much essential at whatever price you see it at. There's a lot of replay value and the level-design is impressive.

It will likely be Space Hulk Deathwing.

Deus Ex Human Revolution just like people suggested. This game satisfies my desire to live in some sort of Blade Runner esque future city; the world building on display here is just phenomenal. Walking into your apartment, seeing news clips on TV and hearing people gossip about the state of affairs in this future world is really quite involving.
Oh and the game is good too. The only thing I dislike is the forced boss encounter that I've come up against, seems to go against the nature of the play through I'm doing and as a result, it's quite difficult.

Everyone hates the boss fights, and rightfully so. There is a director's cut version of the game that changes the battle arenas for the boss fights so that you can still sneak and such.
The original Deus Ex is one of the best games of all time though, play that sometime.

Mad Max is literally the ONLY game I've played all year.

Almost picked this up to. It's like 10 bucks but I have a feeling this is going to be an free Game with Gold soon ha. Is it fun?

>>12I've bought a dozen cheap games with the thought, "oh man this'll be free soon" and they never are.
I bought it for $7 on black friday, well worth it. And if it is ever free, it was only $7.
It's very fun, car combat is awesome. I feel like it could be repetitious with time, but I'm not feeling it yet. Upgrades rely on scrap metal, once you take over some camps it gets delivered to you, so you won't be scrounging the wasteland long.
Parts of it want to be a survival game, but it's too easy. You need to find water and canned food to regain health, and while the food is scarce, the water isn't so much. Also you need to refill your car with gas, but it's as fuel efficient as a hybrid, and gas is everywhere. Although you can collect cars that aren't as fuel friendly, they're all less powerful than your own - there's no point in using them (expect the one the clears mines)
So far it's a 7/10, which is good. It's fun.

Superhot.

Played? Either Civ VI, NHL 17, BF1, or CS:GO
Because that's just been the rotation lately.
But the first game I've purchased was Hotline Miami 1&2 bundle, then sent 1 off to a stubborn friend who (like me) wont play the first one, despite me telling him how much he needs it in his life.

I got Dead Rising 4 for $30 new at Gamestop last week. It's OK, but underwhelming compared to the previous entries.
