COD: BO3 Multiplayer maps...

just thought id rank em, strats and whatnot...

infection...definitely the funnest map to play as well as being visually interesting. the maps that let you use any weapon efficiently tend to be my favorite, and this one has those options. The inceptionesque theme is just cool as hell too.

fringe...another good map for any game style...the map feels very western to me, and i love that. the dry dusty tones, the train tracks, the barn...another one that's just as visually appealing as it is fun to play.

redwood...the map was built for wallrunning, and it works. Including a map that reminds you of endor in return of the jedi was a great idea. the one flaw is that i think the tree houses, as a power position, can be a little too strong. If you control them, and the enemy doesnt avoid the situation, you can wreck em. I've run into bunker campers a lot too, and this strategy makes no sense to me. It can work at first but all you have to do is chuck grenade after grenade in there and you can get 2 or 3 kills a piece.

hunted...the water really opens this map wide open. I love it. You can get from A bomb to B bomb very quickly that way...as long as nobody is watching the water. Large map with lots of flanking options so it's much harder to really lock an area down.

breach...another wall running heavy map...if you want it to be. Staircase campers can get frustrating and there are lots of corners. Still enjoyable though and you can play it long range or pretty close...tho i don't like going shotgun on this one.

exodus...a good smaller map, i haven't seen this game being played in quite a while...i don't know if they took it out of circulation or limited it to one game mode only, but i've played tdm, snd, dom, and demo and i haven't run into it since before xmas. It's one of the few smaller maps i actually could enjoy on this cod.

evac...I love the flanking possibilities...leaves plenty of room for maneuverability. i accidentally found one the other day when i fell and started wall running underneath the area between the apartment building and the air conditioners. i don't know if it has strategic advantages yet, but it's there.

havoc...the building can either be frustrating or a gold mine, depending on if your team decides to hang out there or not. with only 3 ways in and a lot of room to resituate, it's a camping parties delight.

stronghold...much like havoc, if the opposing team decides to all camp in this house, it can be supremely frustrating. So many corners to check. The bunker is also prime if you have at least 2 people, but the bunker being off to the side makes it easier to avoid. If the enemy takes the house my normal strategy is to countersnipe the bedroom and keep and eye on the rocks below.

aquarium...the flanks in this one are fast and can be very ugly. the water doesn't offer too much, which is a shame. I usually avoid the middle. Too many ways in, too many guns on ya. If i do go mid i don't linger. Mostly close quarters so unless it's an objective game the snipers are worthless. i can wreck with a shotgun here tho, and its a good place to hone my knife skills.

combine...i wouldn't dislike the map so much if it wasn't voted in every other f-cking match. It suffers the same fate as every other recent call of duty game that features a tiny map, which is that nerds want to play it nonstop so they can get their xp quicker. So i tire of it very quickly. Plus i think the extreme close quarterness of it limits your gameplay options if you actually want to succeed. It's the same old strategies for the majority of these people tho...walk ten feet from your spawn and head glitch a barrel until the enemy starts coming through that doorway, because the map is only so big you know where they are, and they know where you are almost always. It's the same frustrations ive felt with nuketown, hijacked, urban, etc.

metro...i can't really explain why i hate it other than it's small, people camp the train tracks inside...and theres really nowhere else to go. nobody rushes the spawns, they just go to the middle and sit and wait. the only way ive done well on this map is to camp and to me that takes half the fun out of the game.

nuketown...Im just sick of this map being in every other game. i know it's the 'black ops' thing...just like zombies...but theres enough small maps in the regular list that we don't need to bring back the same tired old nuketown. If anything, bring in another remastered map...why not transfer over Slums or Standoff from BO2? Why must i constantly suffer that which is Nuketown?

My top 5:

1. Stronghold. I always play well on this map. I always prefer maps where there's a central high ground or stronghold to either defend or to take rather than just running around randomly and this has that house.

2. Hunted. A typical example of that great Treyarch level design.

3. Aquarium. A very fast map. The only one I switch my load out to SMG and just run like hell.

4. Combine. I'm sick to death of it, I constantly have to quit lobbies because people will keep voting for it five times in a row. But it is a great map.

5. Evac. Just a good, medium map that has a bit of everything.

I also agree about Nuketown. Enough already. Theres so many other awesome maps from the original Black Ops they could bring back.

The thing that bothers me about Stronghold is the top spawn is infinitely closer, and can lock down that house right outta the gate, making it harder for the lower spawn to infiltrate.

My favorites are Aquarium, Redwood, Combine, and Infection. It is funny that you do not like two of them. Aquarium is probably my favorite map.
