OT: I'm so disappointed

I'm a huge fan of the Fallout series. My computer will not run Fallout 4. So I saved up my pennies to the point where I had enough to buy a computer that will run it.

I was thinking about either buying a computer from one of the manufactures (Dell, HP or the like) or getting this guy with a little computer shop down the street from me to custom build one. This guy I work with says "Just buy the parts from newegg and I can assemble it for you. It will save you some money."

So I took his advice. Now I don't know all that much about hardware so he put together a list of all the parts I would need. Order and receive the parts and there is a problem...Of course.

The system board he told me to buy will not even fit in the case I ordered. He says "Well we need to order this OTHER system board." So how do I know it will not be the wrong part again? I trusted him once. Never again. Besides, I don't have the money to keep ordering parts in the hope of getting the right one.

I had even scheduled a vacation for this week (working tonight and tomorrow then 5 days off). So now I will get to spend my 5 days off looking at a box full of $600 worth of computer parts.

Oh geez.

Just go for an ATX motherboard in a mid-tower ATX case.

ATX being the operative standard.

Guy must be a total flunkie if he can't tell you how to purchase two of the most basic and universal computer parts.

It's my fault as well for not taking a close look at the order before placing it.
