Wherever i ask, people give me different answers, so i figured i'd ask fellow anons on this board.

So i'm looking into buying a new Tower, and playing it with 3 screens (One for gaming, 2 for misceallonous - Anime, Internet etc).

I'm also looking to buy a GTX 770/780 Card.
Now i thought i'd be able to run 2 monitors off those cards, and a 3rd monitor through a HDMI port, but apparently that isn't how it works.

Could anyone explain it in simple terms to a pleb like myself?
